Perry Norman argues that pressing Tab to check the scoreboard separates average junglers from high-elo players. The scoreboard shows gold, items, levels, and CS, letting you spot weak opponents and decide whether to fight. In matchups like Jax vs. Malphite, this data determines whether you should engage or avoid.

Guys, I'm about to show you the difference between gold players and diamond+ level players. It has nothing to do with your mechanics. It has everything to do with pressing this one button right here, the tab button. This is everything for junglers, pressing tab and getting information. It's understanding who is strong, who is weak, who is going to start fights. And the information is not just about people's KDAs. There's more to it than just KDAs. It has a lot more to do with what their gold is, how much, how much items they have. It has more to do with what level they are, not the KDA. What we're also going to do using the tab screen is it's gonna help us decide who's a good player, who's a bad player, because we can look at CS and we can look and base it off of like Jax, for example. Jax and Malphite, they're both farming not a lot. My Malphite especially, he's 10 creeps out of like 18, 19, which is very concerning. What the hell is this guy doing? That raises alarm bells in my head and it makes me think, hmm, maybe this guy isn't that great at the game. So then I get— I have an idea. Maybe I don't want to play around Malphite, but the tab screen tells you so much information. I called it! I freaking called it, guys! You can tell so much from the tab screen. People don't understand that the tab screen is everything. I literally knew that this guy— there's some problems with him based on how he was farming. He doesn't really play top lane, I'm guessing, or he just sucks at the game.
