If You Can Never Pick The Right Kayn Form, Watch This Video - Why Chaos Is Kayn's BIGGEST Strength

Perry Norman plays Kayn jungle and explains why the champion thrives on chaos rather than clean execution. He uses a 2-vs-3 rule to pick between Rhaast and Shadow Assassin forms, prioritizes chunking enemies over stealing camps, and builds Voltaic into Brutalizer to fuel constant map pressure and gold generation.

Hey guys, it's Perry. Today we're playing some Kayn in the jungle here. I'm gonna walk through you guys the reason why I'm choosing what form I'm choosing this game, the build that I'm going to go, the pathing, the identity, etc. So first things first, Kayn is a champion that appreciates chaos. Okay, I'll say it, Kayn likes chaos. So the, the moment I see something like this, like, I'm happy because I can do very, very, very creative things like this. And depending on what this guy is doing, I can sneak behind him. I'm gonna go for it. I can attack him and— oh fuck, did he see me? He saw me! I think he saw me! Okay, it's fine. Because we can chunk him out here, and then the idea is like, he is going to lose a lot of his HP bar. We're gonna have to get Dark Harvest here as well. No, we missed. Okay. Kayn loves this. Kayn loves this, by the way. I'm gonna get my aura. Kayn absolutely loves this. This, this, this is Kayn. Okay, so if you guys are wondering like what's Kayn's identity, this is Kayn. Now don't get me wrong, depending on what jungler they're playing, this could be very, very, very bad, right? So depending on what they're playing here— What are you doing, bro? What are you doing, bro? Genuinely, what are you doing, bro? And it's so frustrating to play against this because people just get so mad. And my Veigar is just like here like, hey bro, you can't kill me. Your champs suck. Guys, Kayn's level 1 is one of the strongest in the game. Okay, so you can cause chaos level 1, but Kayn's level 2 to 5 is like, oh, you're a little bit of a shitter. Okay, so remember this, Kayn identity. We'll talk about like some educational stuff. That was all fun. Let's talk about some educational stuff. Kayn as a champion wants gold. Okay, so fuck objectives, fuck— like, fuck camps if you can get gold. Camps generally guarantee you gold, but fuck everything that doesn't give you gold. Don't waste your time. If you're going to get an assist, let's say you're going to a lane, it's like, hey, I'm gonna go get an assist here. Useless. Stop wasting your time. Go farm at least 1 or 2 more camps. Because you guys think about it this way. I gank bot lane and I get an assist. And my support and ADC tag for the kills, I get 75 freaking gold and I lose a lot of my tempo on my camps. That's not worth it for me. So Kayn, the decision tree is always what produces the most amount of gold and how can I guarantee my kills? How can I guarantee economy? Okay, so that's the way you have to look at Kayn now. Okay, let's talk about, like, real quick what form I'm going. You guys see I have Dark Harvest. Generally, that gives it away. They have a Skarner and Leona. Jayce, Orianna, Kalista. So you can group the 2, Skarner and Leona, giving you the red form, and then the Jayce, Orianna, Kalista. If it's a 3 to 2, whoever has the 3, generally just go that form. It doesn't have to be complicated. Don't make it too hard for yourself. And there's 3, so I'm gonna go for that, uh, that form. I'm gonna go for blue form. For my advanced skin players who are like, well, you could play red form and you could probably still work here because you can probably kill their backline, you're not wrong. But you are missing one crucial factor here. They have a Skarner and a Leona. If I misstep at all on Red Cane, I literally can't move and I literally just splat on the spot. I just die on the spot essentially. And there's no counterplay whatsoever. So I am going to go for Blue Cane and with the idea that I will always assassinate them and I will never fight Leona. Or Skarner head-on. Now in this position, I'm taking his Krugs and not his red buff because I am scared that the Leona is going to come to stop me here. Because the Leona is not coming to stop me, what that means for me is I might actually be able to play for his red buff depending on what the Skarner does in this position. You said it, not me. I'm unsure as to what the Skarner is doing here. I want to push the Skarner out of the jungle here. That's why I'm chunking him. That's why I'm fighting him. The idea is the The more I push him out, the better. And if it's just the— Thresh is coming, Leona's coming. If it's just this Skarner and Leona, like, it doesn't matter. This guy's pushed out of his jungle. He's low. So now he can't do anything here. And I can grab his red buff, his Krugs, recall, go to my topside. This Skarner cannot play the game. But notice how every single time I'm fighting, I am playing to chunk the enemy first. Like, I don't actually care about smite stealing. I don't actually care about like doing like a sneaky, sneaky play. No, no, no, no. I am chunking the enemy and the chunk is what wins me the game. It's what wins me his jungle. This is a good fundamental rule for you guys to apply when you're invading and whatnot. You need to chunk people in general to create pressure and dominate on the map. Okay, I think this guy's flashed still. Flash away. Build your empire. Oh, the Krug! Oh my God, oh my God, the little Krug! Oh my God, the little Krug! Oh my God, the Krug almost got him, guys. But yeah, their Skarner is so mad, he's losing his mind. I know some of you guys would have chased for kills there, and that's why I need you guys to understand, like, kills don't matter. Camps matter way more, or like the big picture things matter way, way, way, way, way more. Um, okay, I need to go stop this guy from getting the bot. Crap. Oh, he's in the top side anyway. Oh, this game is so beautiful. Okay, let's talk about build. You guys saw me buy a Brutalizer. Uh, Voltaic is just generally strong. Um, so Voltaic first generally, and then I like going Axiom Arc because every ulti on Kayn should result in a kill. The way I play, or the way, the way I look at it, is every ulti that you, that you have should result in a kill one way or another. Okay, well, while they're doing this— You got me. Okay, we're gonna combo this guy, and this is not amazing, but we can kill this Leona here as well. My Lucian wants to dive the Kalista, but we should just kill this Leona here. Beautiful. What if we, um, what if we did this? One turret shot. Skarner's in the bot side. Singed just got a kill. What if we just did this to the, to the Skarner real quick? Get him, Skarner, get him! Oh shit, the issue here is the Leona's probably coming. Oh shit, that's the bigger issue. I don't think I can kill this guy here. Yeah, no, no, no. Okay. I didn't account for the enemy fucking Orianna. I don't know why. I just like— I forgot about her. But that's my bad. It's all good. The Skarner, he tried 1v2ing Rage, Rage ganking bot lane and just completely gets fucked down there. Oh my God. There's so much happening in this game that I can't even explain the champion. But anyway, Kayn likes chaos. Kayn can go through walls. Kayn can invade. If you use your level 1 really well, you can become very powerful and you can kind of use that to accelerate the game and get your form really fast. That's what I did this game. If you can't get anything strong level 1 or you can't get the Chaos because the enemy jungler is not tilting and he's just playing very well, very fluid, then you kind of have a different game plan in mind. You just play to scale and you play to get your form based off farming. But notice that like every play I'm making is like I'm generating a lot of gold and I have my item before literally even my mid laner. I mean, he's indexing in to like keep on like boots and refillable. But in general, like I just have so much economy. And I have a lot of EXP as well. And that's why I'm also just not even gonna go for the grubs because the grubs gives you 90 gold total from killing all the big guys. What am I gonna get more gold from? Am I gonna get more gold from his entire bot side while he does the grubs or the grubs? Now maybe later on the grubs will help me because the grubs will get me gold later. But I'd rather play for the immediate gold and then I'll play for like anything else afterwards. That's the way I want you guys to look at it. And the reason why I'm doing the dragon here is it's 75 gold, and if my Lucian is going to do all the damage and I can just smite it and get the gold, well, I'm happy as fuck. Like, let it be that situation. Okay, and given how the Skarner is in here likely means he's on the grubs, which is exactly what I predicted. This guy's gonna go to the grubs, and I'm very happy. This isn't good for us, actually. Okay, it's actually okay. Can zone this guy off hard. We'll take, kill this guy. Beautiful. Okay, we gotta play slow. Like, my goal this entire time though, as I'm fighting, is I don't want to die. And the reason for that is like, I just want to invade this guy. I want, I want this guy to lose everything. So it might be hard for me to invade if I used all my resources and I was really low, which is why I'm just trying to stay healthy and keep as many conditions as I can. That's gonna make the invade super duper easy. Voltaic MS slow got removed. Wait. Huh. That changes my perspective on if Voltaic is good or not. I think Voltaic is still strong, but It's definitely not as OP as it used to be. So I have to recalibrate my thoughts. The reason why Voltaic would still be good is because it's the highest lethality item you can possibly get in the game, which is— which makes that like— which makes the reasoning there good. But that is an interesting one. It's still a great item. That doesn't change that. It just changes the reasoning. And it also changes like, maybe I want more move speed from the Youmuu's. There's different reasoning for every item now. And my Voltaic reasoning just changes. Interesting. Yeah, it was a, it was a quite strong item in the past, and they made it a lot more balanced. Okay, we play for all my camps here, and then we're going to continuously do what we've been doing, which is play for their bot side, play to push this Skarner out of the game, play with my bot lane and my mid lane. Now let's say I can't play for the Raptor camp because I'm doing my camps. That's fine. We still need to farm and cycle our camps as well. Mid laner is fighting hard. Okay, I'm gonna finish my camps first, and then I'll come help this guy because this is guaranteed gold. Like there's no guarantee that I'll get anything in the mid lane. Oh fuck! I fucked my E up here. Okay. I need to wait for them to push the wave before I can go in. I can just ult this guy after, and this guy's dead as fuck. Okay. I don't want to steal Lucian's entire wave, so I'm just gonna leave now. We kill that guy, we get the entire turret. That's big, big, big. And then get us Krugs again. And I want to just keep repeat, repeat invading here. We got to help our mid laner out a bit because this, this Orianna is putting in work. That Orianna is very strong. So it's like Orianna and Skarner's game, or it's— Skarner has a way to play the game because of this Orianna. Okay, this top crab is up. I want to one-shot this, then I can look. Okay, I see that here. I see the Orianna. I see the Jayce. Oh, I even fucking got the flash smite off on him. Wait, that's so sad. He got that last tick off. It's really important to kill that guy there because then we can pressure top lane really fucking hard and like break the entire top turret with our grubs. But the guy, the guy like got off, like got away with it. Okay, like ultimately, should we play for this dragon? It's like absolutely, but what's gonna generate me the most amount of gold? The top camps are gonna give me more gold, so I wanna grab the top camps first. Jesus, you can't do it as easy as before. Fuck, that's so sad. I'll use my next W then. This Raptor camp was up actually. Wow, I could have played for his Raptor camps here. Okay, we do wanna play for this dragon, don't get me wrong, but there's a lot of gold to play for, to be played for in the top side. I want the small guys as well. Okay, mid lane looks like a— looks like war. I need to help my Lucian. Get my W, my ulti off. This guy's probably dead here. I don't know if I can kill this guy. Probably not. Land my W. That's a lot of damage. Big. And now we can go for the dragon. I'm happy with that. We generated a lot of map pressure. Like, map pressure is what I'm looking for the most here, along with a lot of my camps being cleared. Because it just min-maxes how much gold and resources I'm getting. Okay, we're gonna go play for the Krugs, the red buff, and just continue this acceleration. I need to be careful of the Leona and the Orianna from what happened earlier, right? Like the Orianna specifically. Red buff will kill that. Yep. My power will stretch into eternity. None may challenge me. Okay, someone hit the Scryers. I don't know who it was. Skarner just running mid lane. Skarner's like, bro, I know I have no camps. Let me just run mid and help, I guess. I think that's what he's thinking, or is he just raging mid? I don't know. I can't tell if he's raging or if like he's actually thinking about creating map pressure here. Kill this guy. Took a minute, but we got him. This guy only has HP, and then we can take his camp. So it's not a good play, but it's, it's just an attempt at something. The guy's like, bro, I can't play the entire game, so let me just try something, I guess. You failed the test. Is the wall thin enough for me to hit? No, it's not. I'm gonna take his camps, then I'm gonna go grab the, uh, the Herald. What do you do if you were Skarner? He just had to leave his bot camps level 1. He just got it. Like, did you guys like watch what happened level 1? If you're Skarner You just can't get yourself killed. He's— his game was fine there. The game barely started. The guy's fine. He walked in, got himself killed, and then just lost the game from there. They're not buying any armor, so I'm happy to just go for more damage. Like, that's some armor right there, but like, it's coming in pretty late. I think I can go for another Turret of Dirk to kill everybody else before worrying about that. Oh, he's just like sitting in base anyway, because he just like knows like I'm gonna be on his camps. I'm gonna go for the turret. I'm I am surprised they haven't FF though. Yeah, like like it's five to twenty four right now. Do they think they can win? To be fair, the Orion is playing like quite well, but you just are against champions that like we will be able to kill you. Guarantee it. Like this. I have to like kite slowly here. My E for the move speeds resist. Fuck. I have my ulti here. I can't kill him. But yeah, we'll kill that Jayce, lower his morale. I don't know if I can kill him actually. I don't think I have nearly enough damage, so let's just walk away and leave. Go to— go to his top camps now. Yeah, his top camps are mine. All right, they FF'd as well. Well, that was a banger Kayn game. It's level 1 chaos. This is what you're supposed to do on Kayn. If you guys want to get better at the game and you are like, hmm, what should I do, Perry? How do I improve? Take a look at this. What I got for you right here, guys. JungleKino.gg. You can search your account up right now and find what's going on in your games. This person won 3, 2, and 5. But what actually happened? They didn't play good. Why do we know they didn't play good? Because when you look at the review, they died here at 3 minutes. They were on the— they weren't playing with their win con. They weren't playing with their strongest teammates. So There's things that this guy's doing wrong, even though there's a win. And even in the losses, you get to see direction of like what's happening. Okay, it's the best way for you to improve right now. I've been working on this for the last year pretty much with my brother, and that's where I've been for the last month. I love you guys so much. Get better at League of Legends. JungleKing.gg. I'll see you guys in the next one. Peace, peace.
