Do You Have That Corona Stress? Great! Here's What You Can Do About It!

A short YouTube talk by Peter Sabo (April 2020) offering a practical mindset method to reduce COVID-19–related stress. He instructs listeners to identify the specific emotion behind their stress, trace it to an early memory (often from childhood), and 'clean up' that root memory to change unconscious programming and reduce maladaptive responses like chronic worry and anxiety. The advice is presented as personal observation, not medical guidance.

Do you got some of that Corona stress? Great. Here's how to get rid of it. Hey, my name is Peter Sabo. And you know, before we dive into the good stuff, of course, let me acknowledge, like, look, for some people, this is not an easy situation. What's going on with the pandemic, the economy, I get it now. I'm sending my love out, empathy, hope it all works out. Now the good news is you can do something about it, right? The stress that this may be creating, either directly the virus or something indirectly because the economy didn't work as well or, or whatever may be working on. Here's what you can do about it in terms of your mindset, in terms of your mood. So look at what bothers you and really try to identify what that emotion is. Really trying to look at that. Ask yourself, how do you know that this is a problem, right? Like, okay, this and this happened, this is how it makes me feel, blah, blah, blah, okay? What are the specific emotions you're feeling when you're explaining what this problem is, Right? Feel those emotions and ask yourself, what's the first time in my past that I felt these emotions? And just close your eyes and just sit there. You may have to ask it a couple more times. Just sit. And chances are your unconscious mind will eventually pop a memory in your conscious mind from your past, maybe your childhood, maybe a little bit later than that. And it's going to be interesting because the emotion of that memory will, will be identical to the one you're experiencing now, even though the event may be completely different, right? Maybe over here somebody is experiencing financial stress because they got laid off, for instance, right? And they go back to this memory and it's completely unrelated. Like you got your milk taken away at, in kindergarten, right? Or something like that has nothing to do with the money, yet it's that same fear, it's that same emotion of, you know, things being taken away and you never want to experience that type of pain. So that's really what's stressing you about the money. The whole point of this is since a very young age, pretty much since we're born, we're programmed with automatic responses and habits with meanings that we give to things, right? That's why the same thing can happen, but multiple people perceive it differently. Say, you know, you're at a concert and somebody announces that, you know, the, the singer had an argument with the manager and he's not going to be performing, right? People experience the same exact event. But now you go ahead and interview them and Person A says, well, the manager is an asshole. How could he do this? The singer was so cool. Person B says, wow, singer, such an asshole. We paid this money, we took this time to go here and he'll act all proud and he's not going to show up. Person C will be like, hey, you know, this kind of sucks, but let's move on. We can do nothing about it. So how, how come it's the same event but different people have completely different interpretations, perceptions, and just overall different experience, different feeling. Well, because they've been programmed to have that experience since birth. You know, when you're born, you don't come pre installed with beliefs, how the world works or whether you're good enough or not. You kind of go through life and you learn those things. You know, we go through life, these experiences happen, they're saved as a memory. And that memory itself creates the belief, the interpretation, the meaning and, and especially what you got program programmed with from 0 to 7 years of age is what's going to be pretty much perpetuated in your life later on unless you go back to those memories and change them and clean them up, right? So if you're noticing yourself worrying excessively or experiencing the same, you know, cascade of emotions, whether it's fear, anger, frustration, whatever it is, I encourage you to ask yourself those three questions. How do I know this is a problem? What's the emotion behind it? And what's like that first memory when I felt the same way? Because that'll help you identify the root cause behind this pattern, the root cause behind this belief, behind this part of yourself, behind this behavior pattern. And I promise you, if you go to the root cause and you change the programming in your unconscious mind, the action is going to change too. So for instance, if you're worrying too much about money, maybe that's counterproductive to worry a little bit about it. Makes sense, right? You know, let's not be delusional to money. We live in an economical planet, we better get it right. But to worry too much makes no sense. It's counterproductive. Turns off your PFC prefrontal cortex that leads to worse decisions. Too much fear, too much stress over activates your basal ganglia and different parts of your brain that are responsible for that jumpy energy, that restlessness, that anxiety. And with that type of stressful thinking, you're never going to create anything amazing, right? Gonna be more jittery, more distracted. That's what creates ADD and all these things later down the road. Again, this is not medical advice. It's just based on personal observations and or experience. So, long story short, if you want to change the output, you want to change your results, you want to release the stress, you want to release the anxiety, not just temporarily, but for good, I invite you to consider this. Go back to the root cause. Go back to those memories. Clean them up. That's exactly how you will permanently alter the future and the present moment as well. Alrighty. Hope this helps. This is Peter Sabo, and see you in the next one.
