How to get rid of Negative Thoughts!

Short YouTube monologue by Peter Szabo (uploaded by the creator) explaining that negative thoughts and anxiety are not inherent but learned protective responses tied to past memories. Uses a case story (childhood bunk-bed accident leading to lifelong insomnia) plus personal admission to show how the unconscious links past danger to present behavior. Main prescription: revisit and mentally "rewrite" the memories that anchor negative patterns to align past-held beliefs with desired future outcomes; closing invites questions.

How do you get rid of negative thoughts and feelings? Hey, my name is Peter Sopo, and it's a very common question I get from my students or just people seeing my page. And let me ask you a question. When you're born, are you born with beliefs or thoughts and ideas that you're not enough, or you're not worthy or whatever the case is? Well, the answer is no. You're born perfect, innate as you are, right? Authentic. And I invite you to consider this. All these thoughts that pop up, all this negativity, whether that's constant worry, you know, what if this happens? What if that goes wrong? Or maybe it's just constant self doubt or finding the wrong in the world, the wrong in you. Whatever the case may be, I invite you to consider, what if it's not an accident? And what if it's not necessarily a bad thing? And I'll go on it in a minute and what if it's just trying to keep you safe, Right? A lot of these people, including myself, I used to have a lot of these thoughts. I look in the mirror and I'd not be happy with what I see. I look at my bank account and I'd definitely not be happy. And all these different things. And for the longest time I thought that this is not normal, that there's something wrong with me, I must be broken. But then I realized there's actually nothing wrong with you and I, with anyone. If you're thinking negative thoughts, there's a very good reason behind that. And let me explain. There was the story of a lady, true story. She was like, I don't know, six, seven years old. She was sleeping on a bunk bed, the lower level, and her sister was sleeping above her. Right in the middle of the night, out of nowhere, the bed kind of breaks and she falls on top of her. She's choking, she's almost about to die and pass out. And. And thankfully they managed to save her. Now, ever since that day, she's had insomnia. Now she's in her 40s, 50s, and she's still wondering what's wrong with me. This is not normal. No matter how many medications are take or how much psychotherapy I do, I still have insomnia. And I constantly worry day to day, what could go wrong? Where's the danger at? She's just like hyper vigilant, right? And when this happens for a long time, people even realize they're stressed out. It kind of becomes their normal way of being. At least that's how I noticed it myself. I Thought that's just how life is. But then I realized it doesn't have to be that way. Long story short, she had this problem until she went back to the past, to that memory and rewrote that memory. Now, of course, let's not be delusional. We don't have time travel. We can't go back and change the past. But you can change how you hold the past within your mind. You can indeed rewrite the memory. If you think about it, her insomnia is not a mistake. Her body, her brain, her unconscious is very smart. It's trying to keep her safe. It's trying to protect her so that this doesn't happen again. Because her brain linked at sleeping can equal death. It's massive danger. So of course she's got insomnia. Of course she's worried. Her brain just trying to protect her. So when you understand that all these negative thoughts that you may have about yourself, the world, whatever, finance, is not an accident. And another thing you need to understand, you were not born this way. A baby is not born thinking that there's something wrong with them or they're not good enough or they should worry about money. All these things we learn as we go through life. And then we have these memories that our brain, that our unconscious mind is constantly referring to as proof, trying to protect us from danger, from making way too much money than your peers, than your, you know, tribe. Because that's what you'll learn is familiar. That's what you'll learn is who you are. And that's what's safe. So if you want to go beyond that financial. Invisible financial barrier, if you want to increase your mood permanently, if you want to get rid of that anxiety, depression, whatever it is, I invite you to consider, what if it's not a mistake? That these things are there. And what if all you have to do is just go back to your past, rewrite those memories that are causing these problems in the first place. Just align your past with your desired future. And then everything could finally fall into place. Hope this helps. If you have any questions, drop them below. And my name is Peter Szabo.
