How To Stay Motivated Every Single Day

Peter Szabo (presenter) explains a simple daily practice to stay motivated: create and use a "life map" (three parts: current state, desired state, and a plan to bridge the gap). He highlights three common mistakes—failing to set clear goals, reviewing them too infrequently, and only reading goals intellectually—and recommends a daily routine of reviewing plus vividly visualizing and feeling the desired outcome to prime motivation. The talk is practical, brief, and aimed at people who struggle to maintain consistent motivation.

Here's one simple tip to stay motivated every single day. Hey, my name is Peter Sabo, and a lot of our students in our private Facebook group ask me, how do you stay motivated every single day to do what you know you should do and to stay away from the bad things, the stupid things you know you shouldn't do. And here's one simple thing. And let me start with a question. Do you take a shower every day? Now, hopefully most of you answered yes, but think about this for a moment. If we take a shower daily to maintain our physical bodies, to stay fresh, to feel good, why wouldn't we do the same thing with our minds, with our brains, with our emotional health, right? So one simple thing I do. I'll show you in just a second, is this. I call it my life map. And it's something we teach within our course. And essentially, it consists of three parts. Where am I right now, where I want to be, and the plan to get there. Right? How to bridge the gap. So this gives me clarity instantly as far as what my goals are, why I want to achieve them, my personal reasons, bigger picture reasons, how I want to give back and exactly what I should do to get there and what I shouldn't do, including the internal work and transformations I get to do, memories that I get to work on, et cetera, to really help me bridge the gap. If you. It's something I've been using for years. I've refined it, made it better, and this is such a fundamental, basic thing, but most people don't do it. Think about it. Most people, they don't even know what they want. They don't have any goals, right? They may know what they don't want or what their problems are, but they Never took, like, 20 minutes to sit down and write down a list of goals and reasons to get there. So that's problem number one. Problem number two is if people, even if they do it right, like once a year, say they do New Year's resolutions, well, that's about it. They never look at it again. And that's a big, big mistake, because one of my very successful mentors said, if you measure once a year, you're gonna have a bad year. If you measure once a month, you're gonna have a bad month. If you measure once a day, you're gonna have a bad day. So we humans, we need that reality check. We need that kind of little nudge to see, okay, are we going in the right direction or not? So. So that's the second big mistake, is most People never actually review their goals. And the third mistake is, even if they were to review them, it's not enough to just intellectually read it, right? When I review this and I maybe spend five, 10 minutes a day, I don't just read through it, but I also take a minute to visualize and to feel it, right? To prime myself. Like, what would the future look like if these things were really happening and I was achieving them, right? And it really fires me up and it fills up that motivational tank. So. So I do what it takes to get there. So that's the secret. I know this. This is not groundbreaking. It's nothing crazy, but it's a very simple, basic thing. It's a fundamental. And the sad thing about it is, most people don't do it. So if you want to stay motivated each and every day, number one, get crystal clear on where you are now, where you want to be, and how to bridge the gap. And then, number two, very, very simple. Review this each and every day. And not just read it, but feel it. You know, step into it, visualize it, and that will prime your brain and body to stay fired up, to stay motivated and do what it takes to get what you wanted. So this is Peter Szabo. Hope this helps and see you in the next one.
