This is an excerpt from a Peter Szabo YouTube video where a questioner (Sam) reports difficulty shifting from third-person to first-person perspective during visualization. Szabo advises noticing bodily/kinesthetic resistance (e.g., stomach tension), verbalizing what the sensation would 'say', and using small exercises—milestone-stepping, tapping, hands-on-heart and positive-energy imagery—to reduce resistance and enable first-person embodiment.

Have a hard time going from third person perspective to first person perspective. I struggle with seeing with my own eyes, touching with my own hands. I stay happy seeing my higher self, but I can step into that higher self, first person. Do you have any advice? Yes. There's a couple of things you could look at. One would be just noticing the resistance, right? Like, what's the transition issue? Right. When you try to step into the first person, what do you notice? Especially in your body, kinesthetically, do you have, you know, a feeling in your stomach or tension or what do you notice? Right? What changes? And second thing you could also do is kind of just ask yourself, if these feelings had a voice, what would they say? Right? If this sensation had a sentence or something for me to tell, what would it be? And then your brain unconsciously, metaphorically, oftentimes conjures something. Now, the key here is not to think about it too much. It's just whatever pops in your mind. Because you may notice it has kind of like a sentence to it, like, ah, this seems unreal. Ah, this is too far ahead. And again, I don't want to plan something in your mind that's not there. So I'm just giving you hypothetical examples I've seen with myself or other people. But, you know, sometimes that resistance can almost be formulated into words. And then you'll understand, oh, maybe it's just too big of a jump, and then I need to work on that or make it into milestones, right? Oftentimes maybe you just do memory flipping, like the tapping part on the resistance itself, right? You just notice, hey, I have this tension in my stomach. Okay? Do the tapping. Do the hands on heart. Send, like the positive energy there, metaphorically, and then notice if it disappears, and then notice if it's gone. Is it easy now to step in first person person and feel good? So that would be my first thing to look out for, is, is there resistance? And then try to understand what this resistance means, how it is showing up, and then how can you switch it around? That would be my advice, Sam.
