Peter Szabo Shares How To Successfully Run Facebook Ads As A Coach, Consultant Or Speaker

Peter Szabo explains a Facebook-ads funnel he used to generate thousands of high-quality applications for high-ticket offers (typically $2,000+ and recurring) at dramatically reduced cost-per-application. He shows results (multiple dashboards, ROIs, thousands of Typeform/LastForm entries), contrasts older wide/gravity-form applications (~$90–$120 per application) with a Typeform single-question/conditional-logic flow that lowered costs to ~$20–$30, and describes funnel variants (VSL → application → booking, or sending ad directly to video/booking without opt-in). He also gives creative/ad guidance: use video ads, open with a yes-driven question, build authority, use clear CTA and scarcity, and spy on competitors’ ads to be remarkable.

In this video, I want to talk about how we generated thousands and thousands and thousands of applications for $30 or less for high ticket offers priced 2000 above. And a lot of them were actually recurring. This is a model that we figured out. It was based on something that worked. We made it work even better. And this is a model that in my personal business has generated over 4.5 thousand applications in roughly a year. And as we've seen great major success with this, we've introduced to our other clients high ticket local businesses, and they've seen amazing results. So before I dive in, let me back up some of the results. So this is Typeform. Almost 2500 applications right here. Let me go over here. So 5000 Wizards and almost 2500. And this is Typeform only. We also used Last Form. I think we had a couple thousand over there as well. I'll bring that up as well. And then we used to use different, you know, different software for collecting these Gravity Forms, all that good stuff. And what I'll share here is the differences on how we went from paying $90 to $30 per qualified quality application overnight. It's an insane promise. It's literally a promise that would triple your business. But I'm gonna back it up and I'm gonna show you right now in front of your eyes this stuff. I'm gonna show you my best stuff. Nothing held back. So here's another one that we used to have 2,000 entries and that just won. We have a couple other, you know, 50, 90, blah, blah, blah over there. We use this in our agency. We pretty much got almost 200 clients from these applications itself over a period of a year. So I'm going to peel back the layers and show you what we've done before that. Let me show you some of the ads right now. They're turned off. I think our calendar is full. Once again. We've got five salespeople right now. Our sales manager has managed 220 people at one time, closed hundreds of millions of dollars in deals. And we're actually just about to pull the trigger to scale right now. We take roughly 15, 20 calls a day. And on an average day, we bring on maybe one or two clients. You know, some days we don't bring in a client, some days we bring them four. So it always varies. And, you know, Saturdays open and today's Thursday. So that means all the days before that are actually filled up. That's one of the reasons we're not even running any ads right now, because it's Simply filled up. You know, you can see a bunch of these campaigns getting applications. $34. 33. We've been testing different stuff, so it kind of went up. Hold on. We got another ad account right here. Same campaigns, $27. 22. We had a bunch of ad sets that were extremely inexpensive. 24, $20. They're retargeting. So $20 applications. Imagine if you could pay 20, 30, 40, $50 per application. And that application is high quality. And on the other hand, you're selling a 5, 10, $20,000 product or coaching program or maybe 1 to $3,000 per month recurring service. Imagine what would happen to your business. And that's actually what we do. So this is one of our funnels. This is the metrics for one of our funnel. We spent roughly 12,000 bucks and made back 72,000. The actual ROI is 280. The reason it's so low because I actually included all the sales people, commissions and all that good stuff. If I excluded that, we'd be probably looking at a higher ROI. Then the next month we're looking at 84,000. And this is just one single funnel that we use. And we've got actually a handful of these funnels. So this stuff works really well. Like I said, we implemented it for other people too. And I think very, very, very few people can provide this level of proof of just showing you that this stuff actually works. So now what I want to do next is actually peel back the layer and show you why this works so well. Let me show you a difference between two pages and I'm actually going to dive right into the meat and I'm going to share the best stuff that I've got right away. So I'm going to pull up two links. Petersaba co application. This is what we used to use. So imagine a classic, you know, add to webinar to VSL process, right? You have them click on an ad, they go to an education content and then if they want to work with you, you usually send them to an application or a booking page first. Whether you use calendly schedule once, we work with all of them. By the way, pro tip, I've actually seen that schedule once gets me more phone calls than calendly. So maybe interesting to split test. So here's the application and you see it's the classic application. You know, it's actually gravity forums, tons of scary questions. And then they could, you know, can click submit and go to my booking page, right? So my setup, what I used to have was an ad A vsl, which stands for a video sales letter. I would send them to a long application and the booking page, which was scheduled once. And finally I send them to a thank you page. This is what I used to use. And I used to pay $90 per application. So I thought that there's so many people doing the same. You know, everybody's using either VUFOO forms or Gravity forms. They're using these long boring Y forms. And I thought that there's a better way. So actually here's what I've tried. Before I was paying $90, I was paying a couple, you know, 100, 120. And these forms were site wide. So they were completely wide. And actually when I made it slim, made it seem appear shorter, my cost per conversion dropped. So my conversions increased. So by going from wide to slim, I think it was like 120. It went down to 90 bucks. But it still said that this is not enough. I want to reach better results. So here's what I've done. Within 30 minutes I just changed the software and literally overnight my cost per application went down from $90 to $30. And check this out. This is what I've done. I used something called Typeform. So the good thing about Typeform is really two things. It's a different look and feel, different design, right? It really gives your prospects a chance to see that this is something unique. You know, if everybody sees the same application, the same questions, the same boring format, they're going to get immune to it. They've seen it millions of times before. They're going to associate your brand with that other brand that them down and people are not going to fill it out. So that was one thing. The second thing is the psychological fact of consistency, right? We give them one question at a time instead of flooding them with a million questions. And also the questions are put in a strategic order. As you see, I asked them a yes or no question, very easy to answer. And as I continue answering these questions, I work my way up to the tougher questions, such as, how much did you spend in marketing? What's your total monthly income? And as people go through these questions, you know, they have an easier time answering it. So I looked at the ctr. I looked at the CTR from the application page to booking page and it was as low as 7%, meaning that only 7% of the people that landed on my application page went to the booking page. I changed to Typeform in 30 minutes. Overnight CTR went up to 21%. That's a 300% increase. I started getting these applications for $30. And here's the great thing. You may notice that over here there's a question after our call. Oops, let me go back. That question says after our call. And I'll actually have to jump in a meeting. So I'll be back. Record this video later. After our call. I either have the marketing budget or I don't have any resources. So if they say they don't have any resources, the system automatically disqualifies them and sends them to a webinar where we can actually downsell them something of value. But if they actually select that they have the finances, that they have the marketing budget, then they get to speak to someone on my sales team right now, I told you, we have five people enroll one or two clients a day. We actually disqualify a lot of them. We actually disqualify roughly 80% of people because, you know, we have a pretty strong guarantee. It's an ROI guarantee. So we can only work with certain type of businesses and you know, we gotta be, gotta make sure that they are a good fit, otherwise it's just gonna be a waste of our time. Then as you see, if they select the day of a marketing budget, then they go to this question, are you gonna show up in time? Same thing, conditional logic. If they select no, it's get, it's gonna get disqualified. If they select yes, then we go for their name, they submit, and then they can book a session. Alright, I'll be right back. Here's another crazy tip which was once again completely controversial, completely counterintuitive, but it actually made me and my clients, well, hundreds of thousands of dollars. It's insane, you know, how our industry, I do believe that we are highly, highly educated on the fact that the money is in the list. You know, we are indoctrinated to believe that. And I think that belief becomes so rigid that we fail to drift. You know, I'm a big believer in, you know, success leaves clues. Model, do not reinvent the wheel. You know, great artists steal. Picasso said that. I'm a big believer in those things. But sometimes you just gotta zig when they zag, right? And sometimes you gotta zig when they zag even more. Seth Godin says, be remarkable, be different. You know, be unique. When I look at ads, and here's another great tip. I think you're gonna love this. There's sites like Addicted IO where you can type in keywords and it's gonna spit out what kind of ads people are running. So if I put in client, I'm gonna get all the ads other people are running for clients. And that way you can see what's successful. If anything has a bunch of likes and comments and shares, that usually means they've been running it for quite a while. And this way you can reverse engineer their ads, you can reverse engineer their funnel. You click on the ad, you get their link, and you can pretty much reverse engineer the whole thing. Now you see what funnel they use, and instead of spending tens of thousands of bucks on figuring out stuff yourself, you've got the information right here, right? However, when you do these searches and you type in the keyword, you're gonna see if you there's 6,000 more ads to look at. You're gonna see common patterns. You're gonna see that people say the same shit and have the same ads, have the same landing pages. And you gotta put yourself into your potential clients shoes. Imagine you're them. And imagine your daily for the past half a year, for the past year, you've been, you know, being shown ads about the same thing, very similar message five times a day. How are you gonna respond? Aren't you gonna get bored? Aren't you gonna think, ah, it's just another, you know, guy trying to sell me and how to get more clients, just another business, you know, trying to get me do this? So that's why sometimes, yes, you gotta do something unique and be remarkable. And that's exactly what I've done. You know, before I even got the $90 application, $120 application, I used to have funnels where I would send people to an automated webinar, you know, schedule ones, you know, application thank you page, these kind of funnels or six video series, you know, three video series, product launch formula, kind of like set up. I've done it all, you know, over the past eight years. And I've seen that recently, if anybody uses webinars, they pay anywhere from a hundred to $300 per application. In some industries, I mean, you know, amazing chance to work with hundreds of businesses. And that's not a typo, that's not an, you know, that's, that's not something made up. Literally hundreds of businesses, even, you know, accountants, people in insane niches, you know, flexibility, e commerce, local businesses, Cairo solar, you name it, we've done it. You know, accountants paid as much as 1200 per application. So I had to think of something different. And here was my thought process. Listen, if my business is all about generating appointments, conducting appointments and delivering, why would I waste my time collecting an email lead. The point of the email lead is so that you can follow up with people, so that you can present them more offers, so that you can give them more value. I thought to myself, I can do the same thing with Facebook ads because I can retarget. So here's what I decided to do. I decided to let go of the opt in. Now, this is completely counterintuitive because everybody is teaching you, get the opt in, get the email lead, build a list. And I'm not against it. Matter of fact, I build my list in many different ways. We use messenger bots. We. We still have an email marketing platform. But what I decided to do instead is have an ad and send them directly to the video, directly to the appointment, because I knew that that's what I seek. If I can get $30 appointments instead of paying 200 for them. If I remove the opt in, I'll gladly do it any day of the month. And that's exactly what I've done. So I sent people right here, gave them a nice little video, a bunch of success stories, a little bit of print, and gave them the opportunity to book a phone call with my team. This is the exact funnel that's been responsible for hundreds of thousands of dollars for us and for other clients as well. So that was another tip. I'm not telling you you should necessarily leave out the opt in. Each industry is different. But you can split, test it. You know, nothing that I say is guaranteed. Nothing that I say is set in stone. You know, you got to split, test it and see what works for you. And finally, I want to talk about the perfect ad. I really want to go above and beyond, give you major value. I already, you know, gave you another spy tool addicted IO, But I really want to go above and beyond and give you my best stuff that I've got. So let me go in here, and I'm actually going to show you one of the best ads that we're currently running. And I can talk about setup, lookalikes, and targeting later. Right? As you can see, we use a lot of lookalikes. And I want to talk about the perfect ad. And this is especially good for experts in these kind of folks. So let me show you the ad itself. I think you're gonna like it. So the ad itself is a video, right? It's me. You know, I actually made this in Facebook marketing is 20 minutes, you know, just a little explainer video. You can get these done for 20 bucks or 100 bucks if you know where to look, right? And check this video ad out. So almost a thousand likes. We've been running this for a while and this ad alone has generated hundreds of thousands of dollars. So check out this ad. Why is it so powerful? Where number one, video. Video ads nowadays get more impressions, lower cost per mill, they just simply get better results because Facebook is already sold out in terms of real estate. Facebook has already more ads that they can serve. But in terms of video ads, there's no limit because now they're introducing in stream ads and all that good stuff. So video is preferred. The point of Facebook, what Facebook essentially wants to achieve as they make money from advertising is to keep the user on its platform and keep the user happy. Okay? And the way to achieve that mostly is by videos. If you give someone a minute long video, you're gonna stay on Facebook a minute longer than if you give them a picture and they may look at it for 2, 3 seconds. So now if you actually take your phone in your hand and you scroll through, I mean, you don't need to believe me. Scroll through your newsfeed, you're gonna see that 70, 80% of your newsfeed are videos. Because Facebook wants you to stay on their platform. That's how they make money. And that's why they also look at content, because they want to give you relevant content, content that you like so that you stay on there and they make more money. Well, let's look at this video ad and talk about why it is so powerful and why it is so successful. So number one, the video itself is key. Now the second thing, we start with a question. Anytime you ask a question subconsciously, the recipient needs to answer that question. So it's very strategic. Also, it's a yes driven question. So want to skyrocket your Facebook ads? Why? It's a yes question. You don't want to start a relationship with a no. All right? You don't want to ask them a question that they're going to answer no to. You subconsciously want to start building a yes ladder here, so by the time they get to you and you're talking with them on the phone, they've said yes to you 10, 20 times. There's all that micro commitment. So when the price tag comes, they're also going to say yes. That's the psychological understanding behind it. You don't want to start a business relationship with a no. Then we go into the second paragraph. We always usually use three. Sometimes we use story ads, which is longer. But the second paragraph is all about Authority positioning. You know, the point of the ad is to get the click. But if you had the opportunity and the choice to get a quality click, why not do it? That's what I'm trying to accomplish here. We talk about, hey listen, last year we managed $2.1 million in Facebook ad spend while getting featured in Entrepreneur, Huffington Post Inc. Actually now Forbes as well. By this point I can easily turn a money burning campaign into a winner or 100% ROIs return on ad into a thousand percent one. It's not that complex after having managed over 20,000 campaigns altogether over the last eight years. So I talk about myself. You know, the point is not to brag, the point is not to make myself sound super cool. But you know, I want people to know that if they click on this ad, they're dealing with an expert. They're dealing with someone who's actually been there, done it. And it's not just some random advice from someone who's never run a Facebook ad. I want to make sure that they're in good hands. So in that paragraph I position myself in the third paragraph. I give them the cta. I give them the CTA sometimes I like to also use scarcity and today only and for the next few days we can click here and get the benefit. I give them a call to action with benefit. So I'd like to share the feature, the three simple tips so that you can benefit, double, triple, even quadruple your return on ad spend by tomorrow. And I send people to that VSL that you saw on this other page. And that's pretty much my funnel that has generated hundreds of thousands of bucks. For me. It's the easiest funnel I've ever built. There's no confusion solved, there's no complex retargeting sequences. I pretty much revealed some of my best stuff and the whole intention is really just to give you value. If you liked it. Thank you so much for watching. You can scroll below this page, learn a little bit more about us. And if you're interested in working with us and have us implement everything that we talked about today for you in a done for you fashion and guarantee your results, let's talk about it.
