Quit Or Stay In School As An Entrepreneur?

Peter Szabo discusses whether to quit high school or college to become a full-time entrepreneur. He recounts making substantial income while still in school—at times earning in a day what teachers make in a year—his repeated arguments with parents who opposed quitting, and ultimately quitting only after his earnings exceeded his teachers'. He later reports family support after achieving higher milestones (e.g., a $6,000 day).

In this video, kind of want to talk about the benefits and also negatives of being in school and quitting high school or quitting college and being a full time entrepreneur. So before I was in school, I was still doing this entrepreneurial thing next to it and I was still making good money. Matter of fact, I was making more money than my teachers and I could afford some nice things, but I never bought some expensive clothes or cars or apartments, whatever, you know, not that I had like 100k back then for a car, but the point is that I just felt like I was wasting my life. I just felt like I'm sitting in the class learning about stuff that I'll never use. It makes no sense, it has no point, it has no usefulness, you know, there's no use whatsoever. And I could spend those eight hours learning business, you, you know, reading books, implementing business strategies. And that will create a massive difference in my life. So a lot of people ask me, hey, should I quit high school if I want to start a business or be an entrepreneur? The short answer is no. I didn't quit high school until I was making more money than my teachers. You know, I was already making substantially more money than my teachers when I finally found the courage to quit it. Matter of fact, my parents didn't want me to leave high school. You know, they just wanted me to stay. Matter of fact, they still want me to stay. We had huge arguments around school, especially about quitting, you know, high school and not, not even getting like the papers and stuff like, oh, you're not gonna have any degrees next to your name, whatever. And it was, it was tough. It was fucking tough. I mean, we used to argue about this almost every month, every two weeks. You know, it was kind of a big deal and it was ridiculous because I was making so much money. I mean, in some days I had made what my teacher was making in a year. So just imagine me as a 17, 16 year old kid making the same amount of money that my teacher was making in an entire year. And I did that in 24 hours. Now, not to brag, but even at that point I was making so much money my parents didn't want me to leave high school and they were not supporting, you know, my make money online journey. Not at all. Well, eventually I did quit it. It took a lot of time and effort just to finalize the process. Now they do support me. Now when I tell them that I hit a six thousand dollar day, they're extremely happy. You know, when I tell them that I accomplished some things. They're extremely happy. So just show you that it's possible. I'm very humbled to be actually in this place in life and grateful that I could achieve this.
