A short YouTube talk by Peter Svenning (part of the "A Year of Surrender" series) in which he introduces himself as a former monk turned coach and outlines his core teaching: the happiness, love, freedom, calm and fulfillment people chase externally already exist within. He urges turning attention inward ("human being, not human doing"), describes coaching as helping clients access that inner state, and invites viewers to embody the change they want to see.

All they're doing, all their action is geared towards getting that thing.
My name is Peter Svenig, and prior to making and turning coaches into master.
Coaches, I was actually a monk for five years.
And during that time, I really spent so much time going inwards and finding.
What is it that I am longing.
For and what is it that everybody's striving for and doing so much stuff to get. And maybe when I get my new.
Car, when I get my new house.
When I get a dream relationship, when I get my health again, then I'll.
Be happy, then I'll be happy, I'll.
Be joyful, I'll be calm and find my inner peace. I'll be free and I will finally.
Be in love and in flow, love and experience love and bask in love.
You know what I call that?
The ultimate result.
And as a coach and as a master coach, I guide my clients into.
Feeling that state because it's a state.
It'S inside of you right now.
You don't have to get anything.
Everything is inside of you, but it's a question of finding it.
Turning your attention inwards, finding that depth.
Of love, freedom, joy, ease.
And that's, my friend, makes you really.
Happy from the core, inside out happy.
And that's what I want for you. That's why I'm making these videos.
And right now a lot of you're.
Doing is probably not making you happy.
Because you're a human being, not a human doing. So get back to your being, turning.
Attention inwards and yeah, there's a lot.
Of problems, challenges, and you can turn around and look at them as growth opportunities and you can be able to.
Be happy and joyful and free and full of love and calm. Right now it's a matter of focus.
It's a matter of who you want.
To be in the world.
And if you want a more peaceful world, a more loving world, just like I want. Well, let's start by being the difference. Let's start like Gandhi, by being the change you want to see in the world. First step of leadership art is to go forth and be the leader. Be the love, be the joy, be.
The happiness and the freedom and the.
Calm that you want to be able to experience. And then when you meet people, it's.
All about being able to connect to that inner knowing, knowing and mastering your.
Skill as a coach to really see what, what's holding people back.
And like a laser, just pinpoint that. And if you're able to do that, like my clients, then people ask you.
To become your clients beg you to take them on because you can take.
Them from their problem and how it.
Feels and into becoming who they're meant to be.
And feel the joy that they're longing for. Feel the love that it really wants.
