AI is about to expose every home service business that has bad AI slop information online. They've already started doing this. You may have seen less and less people going to your website, and the reason is, is because they had to address AI slop. And for the past 3 years, marketing companies have been just pummeling the internet with AI slop, ChatGPT-written articles, Claude-written articles, and Gemini. Google had to say, hey, we're not going to allow these things and these people to go to websites with this information because it's slop. So they started unindexing, removing them off of what they're actually showing in their results. And what's happening is that people are starting to lose traction and traffic to their website because of the slop. So what can you do about that? If you're still producing AI slop content or you're working with a marketing company that is, it's hurting their brand and reputation with these platforms that care almost all about trust. So what you should be doing is creating unique, what they call non-commodity content, which is real stories about what happens in your local area, Real stories that happen on your job sites, real questions from your customers. This is the content that they want because it can't be said by every single HVAC contractor in your area. It's only unique to you. And the problem is that most marketing companies don't have access to any of those questions or any of that information, so they just default to creating AI slop. This is why it hurts your brand and reputation. So the number one question you can ask right now is, how do you create unique content that's specific to my business? Go and ask your marketing company, see what they say.
