Phil Risher's firm charges based on client growth, not ad spend, so consultants don't profit from bigger budgets. His clients averaged 27% revenue growth last year. Traditional agencies earning commission on ad spend have an incentive to recommend spending more, whether it helps or not.

What I found is that last year our average client grew 27% revenue across the board. And we work with $1 million to $10 million. And you have to think their average ticket is like $1,000 to $5,000. Now, I'm not saying that's gonna happen for you, but what I am saying is like our scoreboard is revenue and our team, the way that I built it is that we're on performance pay. So, because what I hated was working with marketing companies that just told me to spend more on ads so they could get, make more money by the commission that they charged me. When I have a company, our consultants are going to get paid a percentage of the relationship. So that way it doesn't matter, is it Google Ads, Meta Ads, Yelp, whatever it is, like I just want them to grow their business and I don't want them to be alternatively incentivized to do things that are not in the best interest of the client's growth and having a partnership.
