A short YouTube video by Phil Risher offering a simple local marketing checklist for small, local-service businesses. He recommends (1) optimizing your Google Business Profile (reviews, photos, posts) to connect with the local community; (2) using consistent, long-tail geo-targeted keywords on your website (examples: "carpet cleaning, Dallas, Texas" and "air duct cleaning, Boston, Massachusetts"); and (3) having cohesive call-to-actions focused on requesting estimates.

In this video, I'm going to give you three things that you need to check for to make sure that your small business is focused on local marketing to your local market. The reason this came about last week I had a meeting with a CMO of one of the largest digital marketing agencies for E commerce brands and he was specifically asking me for local service businesses, what should you focus on and what is most important and how is it different. And so the first thing that I told him and that you're going to want to focus on is your Google business profile. Google my business get getting reviews, posting pictures, posting content because this bridges the gap between your local community and your location and your service that you offer. The second thing is on your website you want to have focus keywords that are long tail. This means like carpet cleaning, Dallas, Texas, Air duct cleaning, Boston, Massachusetts. You want to have your geotarget inside of your content all over your website and you want to have a consistent geotarget. And then the third one is you want to have cohesive call to actions for requesting an estimate.
