Phil Risher identifies three growth killers in home service businesses: owners doing all the sales, ignoring year-over-year metrics on leads and close rates, and hiring agencies that chase likes instead of tracking actual customers and revenue.

Here's three red flags that we see in home service businesses that never grow. The first one is that the owner is the one that's driving revenue in their business. They're the number one salesperson. They are the sales leader, but they're not the one that's really actually leading sales. They have these arbitrary revenue numbers, but they don't have any team members. That's actually helping them grow revenue. The second thing is that they're not looking at their data to make decisions. They're going off gut feeling. And I'm talking about 5, 7, $10 million home service businesses that don't look at their data. What should they be looking at? Lead count year over year, estimate count year over year, jobs run year over year, estimate close year over year, revenue year year, and new customers year over year. Those are the numbers that's going to help you drive revenue in your business and take the data and help you make better decisions. And the third one is that they're working with marketing companies that don't care about any of those numbers. All they care about is likes, impressions and conversions on Google. Who cares? You want to grow your business. You want to know that I spent money on marketing and my leads went up year over year. Spent money on marketing and my estimates went up year over year. If you're stuck and you feel these three pain points in your business, that's exactly why I built my business. Because I felt those same things trying to grow my home service business so I know I can solve this problem for you. Shoot me a DM and I'll hop on a call and walk you through exactly how to fix these in your business so you can unlock growth.
