Today, let's talk about a powerful word that can help you grow, not only in your business, in your personal life, but that a lot of something that a lot of people just can't do. And we have a little different view here today. Today's topic is just say no. Saying no is such a powerful word to things in your life that aren't congruent with your goal. They don't meet your goal, they're not going to get you to your goal that people just can't do. And think about how many times they ask you to do stuff. Hey, will you take over this job? Will you do this? This can be a number of things. Personally, just saying no to going out with your friends, drinking during a work night, or even on the weekend where you're like, hey, I've got stuff to do. I'm working on my master's degree. I'm building my business. I have to work on Saturday or Sunday. And your friends are like, come on, man, just go out and do this. Sometimes you just have to say no. And a lot of people can't do that professionally. Working with clients, you might think, I got to work with everybody. I have to do all this stuff. Take these different jobs. Often saying no to something that doesn't move the ball forward and get you to your goal or just takes away from what you're trying to do is just such a powerful word that people have such a hard time for some reason saying, I'm not sure why, but maybe it's just how we're wired. And I have a lot of friends that have really seen some success in business and in life. That's the thing they've mastered is saying no. And I started doing this many years ago. Notice certain types of clients because they don't make us enough money or they're not profitable at all. No to joining all these different boards. Hey, Russ, will you come sit on my board? Hey, will you come help up this organization with your skills? I've done that many times and for many years, but often you can get stretched too thin. And my goal is to be a good husband, to be a good steward of our family, to be a good dad, to be a good business owner. And saying yes to a whole litany of things isn't going to help me get any of those done, and it just spreads me too thin. So saying no to most things helps me be more focused on the things that I do say yes. And the things that I feel move my goal forward. So that's just an important term that in concept. You need to get down because. And start using as soon as you can because it'll help propel you towards your goals. It'll help make you a better spouse, a better dad. Just limiting the things you do because this world pulls you in a million directions. And it's so easy to say yes to all that stuff that saying no is going to set you just ahead of the pack and so much push you so much farther ahead of everyone else around you.
