Living Your Life With Intentionality.

Russ Lowry argues that planning your days and weeks, breaking the year into goal periods, and saying no to distractions reduces stress and increases what you accomplish. He shares how he worked full-time while earning a master's degree through structured time and limited leisure.

Today's talk is going to be called living your life with intentionality. I'm reading a good book again on goal setting and breaking up your year to 12 week time frames for goal setting and stuff. And it had a chapter about intentionality. And that kind of goes along with a lot of the stuff we've talked about so far. So when you live your life with intentionality, you're not just reacting to your day. You plan out your day, you plan out your goals. We're all given the same 24 hours. And you wonder how people become billionaires where they live their life with intentionality. Planning. It gives you the ability to say no. Sundays is the day you clean your house and you do laundry and maybe you go grocery shopping. And if your friends say, hey, let's go out day drinking and go screw around, you say, well, I would love to, but it gives you the ability to say no. I have things to do. Or while I'm working full time, I'm also getting my master's degree. So I have to be very intentional with my time. I come home, I have my time planned out. Maybe I exercise a bit after work, I eat, and then I spend two hours every night doing homework or studying or group work. That's how I get my master's degree when I work full time. Led the region in sales, yet was able to find time. I didn't screw around. I had like one night off a week I would give myself and the weekends were just packed with homework to get things done. So so many people just are reactive to the day and things come up and they're like, well, I plan to go to the store tonight, but I guess I'll do this or you know, I haven't done laundry in two weeks. I don't know why. Well, you weren't intentional about having days to do certain things. And I get on to you guys about this all the time because this shit works. When you plan out these times and you make, make it happen, life gets easier, life gets better, things get done. And then when you want to have some free time, you have free time. But you are intentional about what you're doing, whether it's studying, whether it's working on your craft for your, your profession, whether it's baseball or H vac or nursing or whatever. Like I said, going back and getting your master's degree, just taking care of stuff at home because life does get in the way and it gets busy. So you really need to break out to lead a stress free life, break out and be intentional about what you do in life because it just makes life so much easier. And I just see people running around like a chicken with their head cut off. You can't find time to do something. We have a bunch of friends like that, even at our age that, well, ask me to do something, oh, I've got to go do this and this. I didn't have any time after work. I'm like, you're a teacher. You get off work at fucking 4:30 and you can't go to the grocery store on a weekday or, you know, whatever. It's just because they have no intentionality, they have no planning. Kind of goes back to goal setting, which we talked about. But when you structure your day, you structure your week, you structure your time, you just lead a better life, a stress free life, and you get things done. That's how billionaires like Kevin o' Leary have gotten where they're at. They're not playing video games for three hours every night, staying up late every Friday till three in the morning around your friends or going out partying. They're intentional. Their life is structured and they succeed. So that's how we succeed in life, by doing this. And a lot of these videos kind of, you know, converge on these points that I keep hitting because hopefully it sets in. Because your average person runs around like a chicken with their head cut off, having no plan in life, wondering why they don't get ahead in life, when it's just a few simple steps to organize their life can make this difference. So hopefully this helps you out. Remember, live your life intentionally. Make plans, goals, get strategic about what you're doing with your day and your time and you'll be amazed at what happens.
