Today we are going to give you the full truth based on the real travelers and real airport experiences. So if you're flying to India in next 30 days, watch this video till the end. But before, here's a quick recap. In our last video, we showed you how to fill an e-arrival card India online. After posting, we got hundreds of comments, and honestly, most of them were stuck on 3 major confusions. So today we will be answering those 3 confusions, starting strong with confusion number 1, which is print or no print. This is one of the most asked questions. Should you carry a printout of your e-arrival card or just the online filing enough? Let us give you an official answer to this first. Technically, it's a digital system. You can fill it out online, you can get the confirmation done, and that should be enough. But here's the part that nobody usually tells you about, which is people reach at the airport and the officer checks the system and nothing shows up. Why does this happen? It hardly takes 2 minutes and it can save you from a long delay at the immigration. Pro tip, take a screenshot of your e-arrival card on your phone and carry a printout. 2 backups are better than one, trust us. Confusion number 2. This one is huge. Who actually needs to fill the form? See, let us break it down to you clearly. So pause this video and take a screenshot of this part. Foreign passport holders, yes, 100% mandatory, no exceptions and no questions asked. Whether you are a tourist, a business traveler, a student, if your passport is foreign, you got to fill the e-arrival card. And an important update for OCI card holders is that you may now need to fill out the e-arrival card before traveling to India. See, the rules are changing really fast, so always check the official Bureau Immigration India website within 48 hours of taking your flight to India. For Indian passport holders, it is not required. You're just going home. For minors and children, here's where most of the parents make the mistake. If your child has a foreign passport, they need their own form, one per person, even if they are 2 years old or 1 year old. Parents can fill the form out on their behalf. This Simple rule is, if your passport is not Indian, you got to fill the form. So whenever in doubt, fill it anyway. Worst case, it's not needed. Best case, it saves your trip. Confusion number three: the timing. A lot of you are filing the form way too early or maybe way too late. Both are the mistakes. Too early, like two weeks before the flight, the system might not retain your data and you will be asked to refill the form at the airport. Your effort is wasted. Talking about too late, like at the airport gate. Bad Wi-Fi, server crashes, and panic all around. We have seen people almost miss their boarding because of this. The sweet spot to fill out a form is 48 to 72 hours before your departure, 2 or 3 days before your flight. That's the window, and this is enough. Set the reminder right now. Now, what if the system is actually down when you try to fill the form? Firstly, do not panic. There are 3 steps to it. Number 1, try a different browser. Chrome is the most reliable one. 2, try mobile data instead of Wi-Fi. This might sound silly, but it actually works. 3, take a screenshot every time. If anything fails, this is your proof at the immigration. And the worst case, if you couldn't fill it online, reach to the airport early, find the help desk, and they have a manual backup process. It is little slower, but eventually it works. So before we end, 3 quick Quick bonus tips that nobody tells you about. 1. Match the spelling of your name exactly as it appears on your passport, not your nickname. Now, how it is spelled on your ticket, passport spelling only are required. One letter wrong is equals to a literal problem. 2. For your hotel address, use the full address with the PIN code. Just the hotel name is not enough, my friend. Full address is needed. And 3. If you are only transitioning through India and not entering the country physically, you usually do not need this form, but verify it based on your route. See, the e-arrival card itself isn't hard. The confusion around it makes it harder because everyone is just copy-pasting the government links instead of telling you what actually happens at the airport. So here's what we will do.
