Why no one is telling you this, that you have to update your OCI card after marriage, divorce, or a legal name change? If you have changed your name due to marriage legally or have gone through a divorce, the Indian government requires you to update your OCI card to match your new documents. Here's how you can do it. Step 1, apply online onto the OCI portal. Step 2, upload your marriage certificate, divorce decree, or the legal name change documents. Step 3, your updated OCI card will be linked to your new details. Remember, traveling with outdated OCI card information can cause delays and penalties at immigration. Even if your passport is updated, your OCI card must match the current name. So don't skip this step because it's mandatory. Found this helpful?
