1 Underused Tactic for Selling More in Kajabi

James Allen shows how to use product tiering in Kajabi to shift customers from "should I buy?" to "which version should I buy?" Offer 2-3 price tiers like $97 basic and $197 pro, with bonuses like extra lessons or one-on-one coaching to justify the difference.

One of the best pricing strategies to help you earn more money and move more product is not in actually building more products. It's actually in creating different tiers for one product or for each one of your various products that you could potentially have. What product tiers do is shift the mind in the buyer when they land on your sales page from should I buy this to which one should I buy. And that's a very important distinction because they start to sell themselves on which version of your, your single product is the best option for them. I'm going to show you exactly how to build this inside of Kajabi today. If you want to take advantage of a free 30-day trial of Kajabi to play with the platform yourself, you can use my link profityourknowledge.com/kajabi. This is an affiliate link, so I get a small percentage of your investment in Kajabi, but there's no extra cost to you compared to if you went through Kajabi's website yourself. All this does is simply support me and this channel for referring someone to Kajabi. But when you sign up with my link, I'm going to give you instant access to a course I created called Kajabi Kickstart, which is going to help you set up and launch your online business with Kajabi in that first 30 days. On top of that, when you're inside of Kajabi Kickstart, you will have access to a free 45-minute coaching session with me where you and I both get to deep dive into your Kajabi account, and I will be there to answer any questions you have about Kajabi marketing or even making your first sale with the platform. All this is free and you can get instant access by going to profityourknowledge.com/kajabi or clicking the link down in the description. Without further ado, let's dive into Kajabi. So the first thing we're going to do is go over to website, and then we'll go over to pages, and we'll land on one of our landing pages. I'm going to find a sales page. I'll click on this one. I'm not going to build out an entire sales page for you. This is just kind of a mock-up so you get an an idea of what we're doing here. Let's say that this is your sales page, you've done your sales copy, everything's built out, you have all your different little sections of the page over here. So what this is right now is basically your call to action is gonna go to a checkout page where people are going to buy your one version of your one course that you're selling on this, very streamlined, right? Well, here's where it gets a little more sophisticated. We can add a section. We're gonna find pricing cards. When it comes to different product tiers, you, you see this everywhere. If you want to buy a MacBook computer, you don't just show up and say, I'm gonna buy the MacBook computer. It's like, okay, which one do you want? There are different levels to a MacBook computer. Here's what I mean. If I go over to apple.com and I say I want to buy a MacBook, it's it lands right here, and I can either get the 13-inch, the 14-inch, or the 16-inch. There are different features that are involved here, and when I scroll down, even still, I'm on the 14-inch, and when I click on that, I scroll down, and there's 3 different options to the 14-inch, and look at the price point. We have $2,000, $2,500, or $3,000. Okay, so what's the difference between the $1,000 more that I'm going to invest, or $1,100 more that I'm going to invest versus just getting the $2,000 version? Well, that's where we look at the different features that we have laid out here. First off, it's a better CPU, a better GPU, and it has more unified memory and storage. 1 terabyte of storage versus 512 gigabytes of SSD storage. Okay, and then you can look down, everything else seems to be right about the same, but basically what you're paying for, oh, you get a 96-watt USB-C power adapter versus a 67-watt. Okay, so basically with the higher tier, you're getting more power and more storage, more efficiency, and that's why you're paying an extra $1,000 or $1,100. So why does this matter for us? We can take this same concept and apply it to our sales page where we have 3 different options. We have basic, advanced, or professional, and these are different versions of our product or of our course. What I'd recommend is to have at least 2, no more than 3, because we don't want to give people decision fatigue. And if you have 2 different options of a course or a product that you're selling, that is plenty, you know, just have it really simple. I think 2 is the perfect amount. So what I would do here is I would get rid of this pricing tier, we'll get rid of that one. And now we just have 2. I'll even go back, I'll move this up. Okay, and what we can do too is up here at the call to action, what I would do if you were building out a sales page, instead of going next step in the pipeline, I would say go to a section on this page and you can decide which one. Pricing cards. Okay, we'll save that. So what's gonna happen is when you click on this button on the actual sales page, which I can pull up here, this is the main sales page. If I click here, it's gonna take me right down to the different pricing options. So people are reading your sales page, they watch your video, they're like, this sounds really cool, I'd like to invest in this course. And let's say that you had down here a $97 version of your product, and then you had a $197 version of your product. Well, just like our MacBook over here, what can you add to your different course or product that you're selling in Kajabi to make it be worth the extra $100? If you have these different tiers, think about how can I add at least an extra $100? It could be even more too. It depends on what your offering inside of this to make it be a lot more attractive. And then right here you can just list the different features that are included. It already says most popular, top features, and you can change this text however you want. I'm not gonna get into the copy right now. I just want you to have the idea of how this works. Okay, so let's say you wanna think about scalability as you're doing this. So let's say that you have a $97 version and then a $197 version. It may or may not be worth your time, probably not at this price point, to offer one-on-one coaching unless you're really just getting started out. Then down the road you can always change that tier. So with $100, the extra $100 that they spend on this product, they get a one-on-one coaching call with you. That's a great feature, and that is a total no-brainer for some people. Okay, but a great way to think about scalability, which means that this could be running for you. You can drive traffic to this and not, not put in any extra effort on your part is to create a couple of extra modules that go along with this. So I'm gonna hit save here. We have our two different versions. And let's say that we were going to be a bit more strategic with this. We're gonna go back over to the different products that we have. So let's say that I wanted to sell my epic mini course, and this was that $100 version. What they're gonna get inside of this is a 30-day business building checklist, and then they're gonna, you know, have these different lessons. There's a quiz involved. The live Q&A though is a great way that you can add as your second tier if you wanted to. Okay, again, this is a pretty low price point, so the lower your price point, the less involvement you should have. If it was like a $500 course, that could be different. It depends on you and your niche, okay? So you kinda have to like assess your business and your audience to make those kind of executive decisions for your business. Let's say that we didn't have the live session details, it was just the course in here. So what I would recommend for a second tier of this, the epic mini course is that $97 version, we'll say in this example, is to create a new product. Now what you have to consider is that if you are on the basic plan in Kajabi, you only get up to 3 products. So this is something to consider. You would be taking up another one of your products by adding some extra bonuses in this version of the course. So what I did here was I created a new version of this course and I just made it free. It's not paid at all because people are going to pay for this and we can adjust this in the offer section in just a moment. But basically what we're gonna do is this is the $97 version. This is gonna be the $197 version. And what happens when people pay for that $197 version of this, if they say, I want that because that has some extra lessons that I wanna dive deeper into, it's got more features that I want and I can see the benefit of grabbing those features and adding them, it's worth the extra $100 for me. So if they click buy now, what they're gonna do is get this and this as a bundle. Okay, so the epic mini course and the bonuses as a bundle, but if they just purchase the $97 version, they're just going to get the epic mini course, which is going to be an epic product anyway because that's what we do. So in our bonuses section, we can just add a couple of extra lessons and just call this the epic mini course bonuses and just add, you know, 2 or 3 extra bonus lessons that they're going to get that complement the overall course and product. And the way that we're gonna set this up is by going to the sales tab, and we're gonna be in offers. So what we can do is we have the epic mini course, we're actually gonna duplicate this, and we're gonna call this, you know, the pro version, or you can call it premium, or whatever you want to do to make it so that there's a pro version or there's a basic pro version, or basic version, so we have advanced, professional. We'll call it Epic Mini Course Pro. So now what happens is we have this, we have our Epic Mini Course bonuses. We want to click here, and when people buy the pro version, it's at $97. We want to make sure that this is at $197. We're going to save that. We'll go to details, and then we want to add a product in here. So we want to make sure that we have the Epic Mini Course bonuses. Now when people pay this $197, they're going to get the Epic Mini Course and the Epic Mini Course bonuses. Okay, so we'll hit save. So I have my sales page open right here. As we scroll down, what I want to do is make sure that I have the Epic Mini Course Pro. Get the link, we'll copy it, hit buy now, and then you can send this to the checkout page that you've created for Epic Mini Course Pro Or you can copy the link, either one works. Here as well, this is just the checkout page for the epic mini course. And we'll hit save. So now what's gonna happen is when people land on your page, they'll scroll down, they'll watch your video, be like, this is awesome, I see the benefits and everything. Yes, oh, oh, there's two different versions. Oh, for an extra $100 I get these different bonuses. They hit buy now. and then it goes over to the $197 version. But if they click right here, it'll go over to the $97 version. So I challenge you when you're building out your business, whether you're using Kajabi or not, to think about different tiers that you can include to really separate different versions of your one course. Then you could spend less time marketing a bunch of different courses and more time focusing on promoting the one course that is going to be the best solution for your audience. Give them two really solid options, the second one being more than the original one and back it up with different features that are going to make it be a total no-brainer and really promote the benefits of investing in that higher tier. If people see the benefit but the investment is still a little scary for them, they can always invest in the lower tier and they're gonna start to think inside of their head, hmm, maybe I'll just go with the lower tier, and then they end up buying that one.
