3 Solopreneur Businesses That Can Make You RICH in 2025

James Allen breaks down three solopreneur models: high-ticket coaching at $1,500-$6,000/month, online courses that can hit $400K in year one, and membership sites like Peter Levels' Nomad List that reach $1M+ annually. He walks through tools, workflows, and real examples like Ali Abdaal's $25K/month coaching income.

This guy's pulling in $25,000 a month with just one skill. And this guy in his very first year made over $400,000 selling something almost anyone could create. And then there's this guy who made over $1 million in revenue last year, all from one simple product that he manages alone. No team, no fancy office, just him and a laptop. In this video, we're going to cover what these businesses are, what makes these solopreneurs so successful while keeping things ultra simple, and how you and I can follow their steps to get there too. If you're serious about turning your life around and creating real freedom, get ready to take some notes. Because we're diving into our first business. Imagine meeting someone for an hour a week, sharing a few key strategies that you already know, and making $25,000 a month. This is the insane potential of high-ticket coaching offers. It's not just a trend, it's a gold mine for solopreneurs who want to leverage their expertise without the need for a massive following. So instead of casting a wide net like most people tell you to online, you'll be providing a targeted, high-value service to people who are serious about learning a specific skill. High-ticket coaching is so profitable because clients are willing to invest to learn from someone who is proficient in the thing that they want to learn. In fact, coaching and mentorship that is focused on niche skills like productivity or time management can earn you thousands of dollars just from one deal. But it's not just limited to that. This high value comes from you having expertise that translates directly to better results in your clients' lives and businesses. Ali Abdaal is a prime example. He pulls in over $25,000 monthly by offering personalized coaching sessions. At $10,000 an hour, it's pretty easy for him to get there. And while that may sound expensive, if he can help you double, triple, or even quadruple your results faster than you would have by yourself, it's a worthwhile investment. Now, you might be thinking that you need to have thousands of followers to make this work, but that's just not true. High-ticket coaching isn't about numbers. It's about offering genuine value to a select few who are willing to invest in it. And the coolest part is that you don't even need to have a following, certifications, or website to get started. If you possess knowledge on a topic that people are eager to master, they will pay you big money to learn it. Shut up and take my money. And getting started in high-ticket coaching is simple. Simpler than you might think. Start by pinpointing a skill that you're confident in and offer free value on a platform like LinkedIn, TikTok, or YouTube. As you build credibility, create a straightforward coaching offer and start small with 1 or 2 clients. If I were starting over today, I would just offer a 3 or 6 month coaching package priced between $1,500 to $6,000. So that's $500 to $1,000 per month. But understand that pricing varies on your level of confidence, competence, and the result that you're delivering for clients. You can charge as much as you want as long as you have the confidence to back it up. If you're offering offering a B2B service or business to business, you typically can charge a lot more than B2C or business to consumer. Take my client Justin, for example. After helping him launch his consulting business, he sent me this message of him closing a deal for 12 Zoom calls at $18,000. That's $6,000 a month from just one client. Now, granted, Justin is in the B2B service. He is a sales professional who helps level up sales teams, so he can justify that price point because he's going to make them a ton more money. The only real tools that you need to get started are a computer with Zoom, or you can even use your phone, and then a scheduling tool like Calendly to easily schedule calls. And I'd recommend that you offer some line of direct communication between your weekly or biweekly calls, if that's Voxer, Slack, or just simply email. Tools like Notion or Google Drive can also help you organize and share helpful resources with your clients. Or if you have an online course or digital platform, you can also give them that as a part of your coaching package. For managing payments and creating a better client experience, you can use a tool like Kajabi or ClickFunnels to set up a professional checkout page and onboarding process for your clients. But these aren't essential. By following these steps, you can quickly get started into this lucrative world of high-ticket coaching, sharing your expertise while earning thousands of dollars each month as a solopreneur. But let's take that expertise even further. What if I told you that this next business could bring in over $400,000 in its first year, all from skills that you already know? It's a bit more robust than high-ticket coaching, but in doing this, you can create multiple passive income streams that work for you day in and day out. This is what's possible with online course creation. Online courses are one of the most scalable ways to share your knowledge while earning a great income. With just one online course, you can reach thousands of people, whether you're teaching coding, fitness, business, or cooking. This flexible business model allows you to work on your terms, creating a sustainable business that can grow over time. A prime example of this is Wes Boss. Wes made $400,000 in his first year by packaging his coding knowledge into online courses. He helps everyone from total beginners to seasoned pros, proving that there's a thriving market for skill-based courses. So how does it work? Wes is offering self-paced video courses, and once his courses are created, they essentially sell themselves, generating a passive income stream with minimal upkeep required once it's built. Now, that doesn't mean that you can just build a course and set it and forget it. You still need to drive traffic to the program, engage with your students, and update it over time. So passive income isn't really true when it comes to online courses, but you can absolutely create a consistent income stream with minimal ongoing work once everything's built. Now, you might be thinking, but James, I'm not an expert on any topic, or I don't all the right equipment to get started. Well, the truth is that you don't have to be a world-famous expert. You just need to be a little bit further than the people you can help. And you don't need high-end gear either. A decent microphone and a simple slide presentation in Keynote or Google Slides can make for a really great course. I cover all of this and a ton more in my free masterclass. We cover everything from how to quickly build high-quality courses, how to set up automated systems that sell those programs for you, and how to drive consistent traffic without your constant engagement. My student Constance went through this and she was making $2,000 per month selling her course from TikTok and she hadn't even finished her sales page. You can get access to this training right now by going to ProfitYourKnowledge.com/masterclass. Also put a link down in the description. Regardless, getting started with online courses is pretty straightforward. First, you pick a topic that you know well and get clear on who would benefit from it most. Then outline a bare bones version of your course with only the meat and potatoes using a tool like Notion, Trello, or a simple Google Doc. And from there you can record it using free tools like OBS, Loom, a basic webcam, or even your phone. I'd use an editing software like iMovie, CapCut, or Camtasia to edit your course. These are just simple tools that make it really easy for even total beginners to create polished videos. And once your content's ready, publish it on platforms like Udemy, Skillshare, or Gumroad, and you can start earning right away. But if you really want to maximize your earning potential and simplify the course creation process and delivery, I'd highly recommend looking into a tool like Kajabi or Thinkific. These tools can help you create, price, and deliver your content all in one easy tool. So by following these steps, you can successfully launch your own online course and tap into the lucrative world of online education. But let's take this a step even further. Imagine making money month after month, over $1 million a year for that matter, from just one product that mostly runs on its own. With a single offer, you can create a steady flow of income so you know exactly how much you'll earn each and every month. That is the amazing power of subscription-based products. Subscription-based digital products are one of the best ways to earn recurring income by offering training, coaching, and a private community through a membership model. You can build a loyal group of paying customers who come back month after month. This gives you a reliable income stream that allows for long-term, steady growth. Take Peter Levels, the creator of Nomad List, as an example. He makes over $1 million a year by providing important tools, data, and community for digital nomads. What's impressive about Peter is that he runs the whole platform by himself with very little cost, which shows how scalable this business model can be. So how does it work? Users pay a monthly or yearly fee for exclusive access to Peter's resources, which means he has consistent money coming in every month and year. Obviously, churn is a thing. People do unsubscribe, but the more valuable things that Peter adds to his platform, like new tools or better community features, the more people are willing to pay and keep paying. And this ongoing improvement of his product is the key to his success. Now, you might think that you need to have a big team or advanced tech skills to start a subscription service like a membership site, but that's just not true. Peter manages everything alone, proving that it's possible to run a high-earning membership site without a full staff or complicated tech know-how. To start your own subscription-based product, first find a problem you can solve or a community that you can help. Package exclusive content, tools, templates, and resources around that need. Then set up your subscription and create a community with a platform like Memberful, Slack, or even a private Facebook group. For a great all-in-one tool, Kajabi is by far my favorite, and Stripe is great for secure payment processing and just getting started quickly. I've mentioned Kajabi a few times in It's the one tool that I use to run my entire six-figure business. I'll put a link down in the description to get a free 30-day trial along with some extra bonuses if you decide to sign up under my link. By following these steps, you can create a highly profitable subscription-based digital product like a membership site and create a steady, reliable income stream month after month. Regardless of which one of these business models you decide to pursue, you're going to need to sell it. Most people spend months building these types of products and then point people to a sales page but end up making no sales. And that's not going to happen for you. Over the past 3 years, I've dissected over 200 successful sales pages to uncover what makes them convert casual visitors into paying customers and to help earn their creators millions of dollars. And I'm going to show you exactly what I learned from all of that research in this video right here. If you got value from this, please give me a thumbs up, and if you have any questions, leave a comment below. Other than that, take what you learned here, get out there, make something happen, and I'll see you in the next one.
