Kajabi vs Kartra: Which is Best for Your Business?

James Allen compares Kajabi and Kartra, two all-in-one platforms for online creators. Kajabi costs $150-$399/month with product limits of 3 to 100 depending on plan; Kartra runs $99-$299/month with unlimited products. Allen prefers Kajabi's simpler interface and cleaner page builder, though Kartra offers more templates and better physical product support.

So right here we have the pricing plans and pages for both Kartra and Kajabi. Kajabi, the Basic, Growth, and Pro plans are the 3 options from on the monthly. This is, you know, annual, but we're gonna stick with monthly. $150 per month, $199 per month, or $399 per month. What's nice about Kajabi is that you get zero transaction fees on every single plan. Very, very nice. Other companies like Teachable, who I do not— I don't like Teachable, but Teachable, even on their free plan or even the like next level up, uh, by the time you're paying about as much as you are with Kajabi, they take transaction fees. So it's something to pay attention to. Kartra, I don't know. If they do any sort of transaction fees. Are there frequently asked questions? I haven't seen anything. Why is your pricing so good? I wouldn't say it's like amazing. It's $200 a month versus $200 a month. There's a $99 per month, which is nice, or $149 per month. Okay, they're roughly the same kind of price though. They just have the, the gold is the extra option where it's $299. Rather than $399 just for the Pro. But basically what you're getting is up to 12,500 leads, 3 custom domains, which is nice, unlimited emails, bandwidth, unlimited pages, videos, products, membership sites, team members, help desk, I don't know exactly what the help desks are, a funnel mapper, so I'm guessing that means that you can map out your entire funnel, and then a funnel simulator. Which maybe is the, the builder, and then Kartra Agency. Okay, I don't know what that is. The one thing that I've heard about Kartra versus Kajabi is that they're both really good for selling online courses. I've never used Kartra per se, but we're gonna dive into the dashboard in just a second. But I've also heard that Kartra is really good if you want to sell physical products too, which is a bit of an advantage over Kajabi. Okay, but if you're thinking about selling online courses, I mean, Kajabi is— I love the interface, okay? I think that they give you everything that you need. I'm a bit of a fanatic with Kajabi, but I think it's important, you know, and it's fun to look into these, to these different options that they have for you. Um, over here, this can be— it can seem like a big selling point. It's unlimited products, or 20 products on the $100 per month plan. It's nice to have room for products with Kajabi, you only get 3 products on their basic plan or 15 on their growth plan. That's the one that I use, the growth plan, or 100 with pro, but pro is totally unnecessary. We're just gonna ignore this for right now. For the majority of people, basic or growth is gonna be the way to go. Okay, but if you, I mean, just with 3 products, there's ways to work around this. You know, I'm gonna make a video about a way to kind of work around 3 products and the limit that you get with that. But 3 products can give you a really great business, a really healthy business, and a simple business. See, a problem that I see with a lot of these different plans with different tools is that they give you this, they give you unlimited products, and it sounds really cool, it sounds like there's more value, but do you really need unlimited products? I think if you had the 3 plans right here, the 3 products right here, and you had an entry level like a mini course that was like $50 to $100, and then a full-fledged course that was like, you know, $200 to $500 or something like that, and then a one-to-one coaching program as well. You would be totally set. You'd be off to the races. Or you can do the mini course, the full course, and then a membership site too, and you'd be crushing it. And you can do coaching in Zoom outside of it, okay? Like, you can do so much. And just those simple couple programs can give you a thriving business. You just need to know more about how to run a business, okay? So don't just be like, oh, just because like this has unlimited products that I'm gonna roll with that. The more important things to pay attention to are unlimited bandwidth and pages. That's much more intriguing to me. Unlimited emails, okay? You get all of that with Kajabi as well. There's unlimited bandwidth on Kajabi, every single plan, unlimited bandwidth. The bandwidth is like the amount of content that you can upload in your videos. You can only go up to 4 gigabytes per video, but you can have unlimited videos on different pages and whatnot, and you can embed pages from YouTube as well. You can do a lot of cool stuff, okay? But that's really the important stuff to pay attention to, and the emails as well. Membership sites, like, I mean, if you have one good membership site, you're fine. You don't need to have unlimited, like, 100 different membership sites or 100 different products. It's just too much. It's unnecessary. All right, so that's enough of me slapping my gums. These both seem like great options. I mean, I love Kajabi, that's the one that I use in my business, so I know and love it, but Kartra seems really cool and I've heard a lot of great things about it. You can do membership sites, affiliate management, help desk portal to support ticketing and live chat, that's pretty cool. Funnels and campaigns, checkouts, pages and all that kind of stuff. Okay, they both do the job of helping you start and grow your online business. But let's take a look inside the dashboard because that is where You're really gonna find your sweet spot with either Kartra or Kajabi. So we'll take, we'll start over with Kartra. I, by the way, full disclosure, I paid a dollar to have access to this. Okay, they don't have a free plan as far as I know, I couldn't find one, but there was a little pop-up that came up and it said you can get 14-day trial for a dollar. So I was like, yeah, I'll do it, do it for the content, do it for my people. So we're here just to take a look inside. This was on the Silver plan, and this is what it looks like right when you sign up inside of Kartra. So there are products, which we can click up here. Communications, I'm imagining communications is gonna be like your emails and whatnot. Apparently you can keep emails inside of here. If we go to pages, I'm kinda curious. You can do your email marketing through here is kinda what I mean. Okay, so you have a lead magnet opt-in form. That's awesome. And yeah, you can collect opt-ins. These are pretty nice templates. Preview. Just curious what this looks like. Yeah, so these are super nice. Okay, they do the job. That's what matters. See, the biggest thing that's gonna separate Kartra versus Kajabi, there are some, some different benefits to like different types of templates, you know, the styles of templates. If we look at Kajabi, this is the inside dashboard. To get to pages, you have to go to website, and then we go over to pages under landing pages, and then you can click here and we can see the different landing pages that they have. So it seems like Kartra has significant more amount of pages. Thank you pages, lots of different templates. Okay, that's pretty intriguing. Those are really nice. Video sales pages, long sales pages. Then we can preview it. See, yeah, I mean, these look great, you know, and you literally can just fill in the blank with all this stuff. I'm sure you can change the colors, everything. I'm not going to do a full-fledged breakdown of this, but these look awesome. Okay, and Kajabi as well. Like, if you go to Prosper, we can just say this is a preview of it. Okay, like they look fine. And I mean, I think honestly Kartra might have Kajabi beat in terms of like the actual little templates that they have set up here. They're pretty, they're pretty awesome. I'm not gonna lie. So I'm inside of the page builder right here. And if I click here, it gives me these little options. I can change the color right here. Let's say I want to do the blue. Cool. It's pretty— yeah, I mean, this is pretty— can I move this around? Okay, yeah, you can drag things around. Click on this. Oh, I see. And then you can click here and you should be able to change things. Image select. Okay, cool. So one thing that I like more in Kajabi is just the way that building pages is. So this is a pretty one. Let's say we go to Page, we'll go test, create. So this is the page builder inside of Kajabi, and you can see that they look a bit different. Honestly, I think that the page overall looks really nice inside of Kartra, but I feel that the, the feel of it for me personally is a little more clunky. And I'm not just saying that because I'm biased about Kajabi, okay? I'm saying it because it genuinely does. It doesn't, it doesn't feel as nice. It could just be that I'm used to Kajabi too. But like, for Kajabi right here, if I click here it automatically switches it on the side panel and highlights whatever it is. If I want to change this, I feel like the interface is just a lot nicer and a lot easier to like pick a file right here. I can take a picture on my camera, um, upload from my device, from Facebook, a link, whatever. You know, you can go back down here, you can change this text. If I want it to all be black, I can go right here, turn it to a dark color. Okay, or we could even make it a really— make it like that blue. Okay, that doesn't look really good. White looks better for sure. But I feel like the actual builder in and of itself is a lot more user-friendly over on the side right here. Yeah, then, then this, it feels— it does feel more clunky. Uh, so this is a nice feature is that you can actually add a countdown timer over here. And you can just, you can change it so it's more like deadline funnel. That's really big. So right here, based on a sequence subscription. So if somebody subscribes to an email sequence, then you can kickstart this to work for you. So it works like a countdown timer for people that opt in. They get a certain, um, a certain special deal or something like that when they opt in, uh, and they have a countdown timer visible. That's pretty cool. Kartra is looking pretty good so far, I'm not gonna lie. I think that they have some more options, but the feel does feel a bit more clunky than Kajabi. Now, in playing with this for the short amount of time that I have, I, I don't like the user interface as much as Kajabi. I feel like there's a lot more going on here, and it— I mean, it could be that they have more options. Um, I feel like less options, fewer options is better. It helps us be more focused and get things done faster. And I just feel like Kajabi provides that. I do say that Kartra, the actual landing page templates, the way they're already set, look really good. They might even have Kajabi beat on that, quite frankly. Just the page templates themselves are really amazing. But I just love the simplicity inside of Kajabi and how they keep the analytics really simple. Everything's very straightforward, okay? And I, I just, I feel like Kajabi is definitely the winner for me, but then again, I've been using Kajabi for a long time. The biggest thing I want you to take away from this is that you have to get your hands dirty and try these out yourself. So Kajabi has a free 14-day trial on their website. Kartra, you can pay a dollar to get a 14-day trial, uh, on their website. And, um, yeah, it's kind of just like you just got to get your hands in there. And the biggest thing is just seeing which interface makes sense to you, which one feels right to you, because they both provide awesome tools to help you build your online business. Now, if you want to get an extended trial of Kajabi, then consider checking out my link down in the description, profityourknowledge.com/kajabi. You'll get a 30-day trial using my link, and I'm going to give you access to the, the Kajabi Kickstart course, which is a course I made to help you set up and launch your business. with a funnel and passive income system inside of Kajabi within that first 30 days.
