In a recent article by Hootsuite, they recently shared 23 YouTube stats that matter to marketers in 2022. And they start by mentioning that YouTube may be more than 15 years old, but the platform has already gotten better, faster, and stronger with the passage of time. They continue to say, if you are considering diving into the world of video with the planet's most popular sharing social network, we've got all the hot numbers you need to inform your strategy right here. YouTube is going nowhere but up, and that's exactly why we should be focusing our time and energy into creating quality content content every single week to market our business. Now in this article, Hootsuite mentions some YouTube user statistics. The first one being that YouTube has 1.7 billion monthly visitors. In total, the site gets 14.3 billion visits per month. That's more than Facebook, Wikipedia, Amazon, and Instagram. And it is popular. They also go on to say that YouTube is the second most visited website. With over 14 billion monthly visits, YouTube clocks in as one of the internet's heaviest hitters, right after its parent company Google. YouTube also happens to be the third most popular search term on Google, and there's a graph with the internet's most visited websites, with YouTube clocking in at second next to some very stiff competition. If you know, you know. Now I'll put a link in the description to that article so that you can read it in your leisure time. There are so many people in this world going to YouTube to figure out how to do things. They want to learn from reputable people who have experience and knowledge in a specific field, which is exactly where we come in. So in today's lesson, I'm gonna walk you through my content marketing strategy strategy for YouTube and how I am leveraging the platform to grow my channel. On this channel, we talk about how to turn your knowledge and expertise into a profitable online business while working under 20 hours per week. And one of the biggest drivers to an efficient automated online business is great content. And to help you with this, I want to give you my content planning template. This is the same exact template that I use every week to create more quality content that I can research, plan, and prepare, and then execute on. It's stuff that I've learned from great YouTube creators and coaches that I've worked with, and it's something I know is going to help you grow your channel as well. To get your planner, just go to ProfitYourKnowledge.com/content, or there's a link in the description of this episode. Now, another reason why we should be focusing on YouTube content is because it's evergreen content, meaning that when you upload a video, it stays up in the internet forever to always be searched on even years down the road, and nobody's gonna take it down unless you decide to take it down. Now, this is way more effective and reliable than something like Facebook, for example. Sure, I use Facebook to grow my business as well, but the One day I made a post inside of a Facebook group that was getting some good traction. Then the weekend came, which I took off. I came back that following Monday to connect with the people that commented on my post, and somebody had taken the post down. See, what happens when you post on Facebook is that your post only gets shown to a small percentage of the people on your friends list. And not only that, but it's really easy to have a post get lost in the ether, or in my situation, someone can just take it down. So I'm not saying that you can't be on Facebook or Instagram, but you should ideally be leveraging YouTube for an evergreen component to your business. Vanessa Lau, for example. If you go over to her videos and you sort by and go to the oldest video she has made, you can scroll down and see that she has been posting for about 3 to 5 years. And what's wild is that some of these videos are 3 years old and still growing in views. So Vanessa is still getting massive views and gaining traction online from these old pieces of content. And that's what you can do as well. Even on my channel, one of my best performing videos, How to Use Google Calendar Effectively, It's at over 7,000 views right now and it's constantly climbing. People are opting in to get onto my email list from that video. So I hope you can see why YouTube is such a valuable platform to be on and why it's worth your time to be putting energy into creating great quality content and getting on the platform, or at least getting serious about the platform. Now, what we first wanna do for this content marketing strategy on YouTube is to publish weekly and on multiple platforms. Other evergreen platforms are things like podcasts or blogs. Now, the internet rewards consistency, meaning that you post every single week at the same time on the same day, just like your favorite TV show. What this does is get your viewer into a habit of understanding what your rhythm is, when your next piece of content is going to be coming out, so that they can look forward to it. It could be once a week, twice a week, 3 times a week. Regardless of your rhythm, pick one. Now I recommend once per week and focusing on quality every single time rather than just quantity, because over time you're going to build up a database of great quality content, and I would much rather have that than a ton of content that is just crap. Now every week I make one YouTube video. Once that video is fully shot and edited, I upload it up to Anchor where that platform will literally extract the audio from my video and turn my YouTube video into a podcast. I'll also create a blog post from my YouTube video. And to transcribe my YouTube video into a long-form blog post, I'll use a tool like transcribe.com or otter.ai. And then from there, you can use bits and pieces from your YouTube podcast or blog content and convert that into social media posts. Now, it's massive when you're creating this evergreen content in the form of a YouTube channel, podcast or a blog post, or like I recommend, all of the three, is to create a desirable lead magnet for your ideal audience and pitch it. Pitch your lead magnet in your videos, in your blog posts, in your podcasts. Now, if you're not familiar, a lead magnet is just something desirable. It could be a downloadable PDF, it could be a free training or workshop, it could be some sort of quiz that you have to help people learn more about them and their situation and how to overcome it. But the important thing is that you don't just give away this lead magnet, you give it away at no cost, but in exchange for their email address. So while you're creating regular, free, valuable content every single week, what's gonna happen is that over time, one or a few of those videos is really gonna pop. And when you get in the habit of every single video, you pitch your lead magnet. You say, hey, I have this free deliverable to help you lose weight if you're a fitness instructor. Or for me, my content planning template. I know it's gonna help you make better quality content, but in order for you to get that template, you are gonna have to give me your email address. Full disclosure. And when one of those videos or podcasts blog post pops and people keep seeing about this awesome lead magnet that you have, if you did a good job, they're gonna want to grab it. And in return, you will be able to automatically grow your email list where you can automatically sell them things, offer more goodies to them, build a relationship, and have a real generous and quality online business. I can't tell you how many times I've seen people have a podcast or a YouTube channel and they do not pitch some sort of relevant lead magnet to the people that visit the website. Instead, they say something like, join our newsletter. But who honestly wants to be on a newsletter? Who wants to be on just another thing that's going to be crowding someone's inbox? It's much more attractive when you say something like, hey, here's my free guide that's going to help you lose 15 pounds in the next 30 days. So as you are building this database of content, pitch your lead magnet. The next thing you want to do is set up an email autoresponder. You can do this inside of ActiveCampaign, with MailChimp, or use something like Kajabi as well. It doesn't really matter what tool you use as long as it has an automation feature. So what happens is when people find you on YouTube or your podcast or your blog and they hear about this awesome lead magnet that you've created, they go to a simple squeeze page that explains what they're about to get in exchange for their email address. And their only option is to either give you the email address or leave the page. Now when they write down their email address, they'll go to a thank you page where they'll collect their deliverable. From there, you'll set up an automation with 5 pre-written emails. So as soon as somebody puts in their email address, it's going to kickstart automatically this 5-day autoresponder autoresponder. The first 2 days you're going to give people free content in the form of written content or with a video, or if you have extra deliverables, you can give them some more downloads as well. The third day you want to give value and then transition into a pitch where you're pitching an online course. It could be a paid PDF or it could be to book a discovery call with you. And then day 4 and 5 are going to be pitch days where the sole purpose of these emails is to pitch your offer. So I hope you can see what's happening here. You're creating consistent YouTube videos that you're converting into a blog podcasts, and small snippets on social media. And inside of that content, you're offering a lead magnet and adding value. Once someone types in their email address after discovering you, they get their lead magnet, which is you offering more value to them. On top of that, that's gonna initiate your 5-day auto email responder that adds even more value to them and then pitches your course, membership site, ebook, coaching call, or package. And the more that you create great quality content and practice these things, the more that you are going to grow. And eventually, it's gonna become a hands-off business assuming that you did it right. And over time, you're gonna build up more and more content, become more of a trustworthy resource and an authority in your space. And with that strategy, you will be able to build a profitable online business. But a huge part of making this whole system work isn't just creating great content. On top of that great content, you need to learn how to build lead magnets that people truly want and what goes into a great lead magnet, which is why you should check out that last lesson I did on 3 scalable lead magnets that will help you grow your business. Take what you learned here, get out there and start creating creating some great quality content and growing your business. I'll see you in the next one.
