A short YouTube monologue by communication coach Rael (brand: #wellwithraele) highlighting a "green flag" in social interactions: when a speaker notices and includes a third person joining or overhearing a conversation. The speaker gives concrete inclusion tactics (eye contact, smiling, quick recap, asking a question), frames the behavior as an indicator of awareness and kindness, and encourages viewers to try it.

We talk about red flags and communication often here, but I want to talk about a green flag today. Something positive someone does when they're communicating and socializing. When two people are talking and a third person enters the conversation or is listening in, if the person speaking acknowledges that third person and includes them in the conversation somehow, that is an amazing green flag. And that can be through eye contact, a smile, recapping what they were saying quickly so the third person is up to speed, or even asking them a question to get them involved in the conversation. It's such a simple thing, but indicates an awareness for the other person and kindness in general. It's easy to talk about the things that are wrong in communication or that can go wrong, but sometimes it's nice to talk about the stuff that can go right or is good. So if you do this and are inclusive of the people around you in social interactions, even if you might not know them very well, well done. And if this is something you've never thought about before or haven't been aware of before, maybe it's worth considering now and trying out. I'm well with Rael, your communication coach, and as always, I hope this was helpful.
