From now on I need you to stop introducing your thoughts, ideas, questions as this might be stupid, but the word stupid holds so much weight to it. And even if what you were saying wasn't stupid or actually was the most intelligent thing that you could possibly be saying, you're already downgrading yourself and taking yourself down a notch by introducing it like that. If you have the urge to buffer it in some way, you can say things like this might be an obvious question but this might be self explanatory but we may have gone over this already but I wanted to double check. I had an idea that might be a little bit different but I wanted to throw it out there. I know you don't think what you're saying is stupid so why present it in that way? All you need is a different adjective to replace it with to buffer or introduce what it is that you're saying. I'm well with Rael, your communication coach.
