Ramit Sethi's hotel charged $325 to clean his underwear. He refused, found a self-service laundromat with Japanese signage instead, dropped off his clothes, grabbed lunch, and came back to clean laundry. He and his friend laughed the whole way.
It's like the blood has drained out of my face and I turn to my wife, I say, guess how much this laundry is gonna cost? She goes, how much? $325. Now listen, I don't mind paying. The hotel room we were staying in cost thousands per night, but I'll be damned if I'm gonna pay $325 to have my freaking underwear cleaned. I'll do it myself. And we find this little laundromat.
Oh, we made it to the promised land. Not paying $350 for this.
We walk in, everything's in Japanese. It's one of those do-it-yourself places. And we put the money in and leave, go to lunch. We come back, the laundry's done. And at that moment, we looked at each other and we just laughed. We loved it.
