Andrew fixates on what could go wrong with money, while Ramit Sethi starts by imagining what could go right, then adds risk management. Two different approaches to thinking about financial possibilities.
People who are savvy with money, do you think that they think about what can go right, what can go wrong, or both?
Both.
Okay, which do you do?
I stick to what can go wrong. I think I'm trying to incorporate the idea of, like, it doesn't have to always be doom and gloom.
I like that. I like that. I think that that's probably a good goal for you right now, which is to ask yourself, hey, what can go right? And I also think that further down the line, you can have a North Star. Star of being able to talk about both. So when I look at numbers, I look at what can go wrong and what can go right. I usually look at what can go right first. But I do spend time on risk management. How much do I have in saving, what's my risk level, et cetera.
