Hi, I'm Chris Clark here with Ramit filming another video after you may have seen me in the Dream Job videos. And now we're doing video for another program that that's coming out.
Thank you for being here. We see each other regularly now. Like, you are basically the I Will Teach youh To Be Rich student star. Do you know people write comments? They're like, I love that guy Chris. He's hilarious.
Yeah. Actually, so I was, I was on YouTube the other day and I saw a video that was suggested to me for how to fix monotone voice. Okay. Of course I clicked on it because I need to fix my monotone voice. And it was a video of you and I in New York and you were telling me how to fix my monotone voice. And yeah, there were, there were some like really nice comments in there, which was pretty exciting.
It's shocking because people on YouTube are the worst people on earth.
Yeah.
But for that video, they're like, I love this guy. So welcome back. Chris is one of my star students. He joins virtually every program that I put out. And one of your goals is to see how quickly you can get ROI on the new program.
Right.
Okay. And you seem to be doing very well. Give us a quick rundown for the people who aren't familiar with you. A few years ago, you were severely in debt. Fortune wrote about you in this profile. They did of me. You had basically had to take food from the cafeteria because, like, you didn't have enough money to get a lot of food. Tell us quickly, like, what happened from there to here.
Yeah, I mean, a lot of it. So what you say is correct. You know, I had, I had a really low paying job. I was in multiple five figure debt. And I, you know, I found your stuff and I just got really serious about, you know, my career and earning more and not so much about, you know, just trying to expect it to happen to me, but actually building systems to make it happen. And so in a pretty short order, 18 months, I, you know, total comp. I quadrupled my income. I mean, I got some very serious raises. Like, raises where when you write emails about me, you have to say this is not a typo. And it was really just like a whole mindset change that, that I took on that's really helped me in multiple areas of my life.
Yeah. One thing that I remember you told me, I mean, you went from being in a lot of debt to, I remember having a pretty sizable amount in your bank account. Is there any numbers you can throw around that you're comfortable sharing.
I mean, let's just say that they're enough that I'm probably not comfortable sharing.
At this point, actually. Perfect. Okay, well said. One thing that you told me that I loved was you had the opportunity to fly, I believe it was to Texas for a friend's wedding somewhere in the Midwest. And before it would have been unheard of to even consider it. Like the flight for you and your wife, the hotel. And now you're like, yes, why do I earn all this money? So we can go for a weekend to see the people we love.
Yeah. So that, that was actually a wedding. It was actually thankfully or it was not the Midwest. It was. The wedding was in Boston and we wanted to go see friends in New York and so we had to. It was fourth of July weekend, the flights were out of control. And that was exactly what happened. It was like there was no way we could have done this in the past. And now it was just like, no, you know, we have friends in New York we want to see. We're going to do this. It's a no brainer. Let's book the flights.
To me, that's a rich life.
Yeah.
You have the money, you have the financial wherewithal to be able to say, I want to do this. It involves my friends, my family, what we want to do. And you can do it. That's a rich life.
