Ramit Sethi argues that older generations got rich, then changed the rules to block younger people from doing the same. But I resent people in this country who have made a ton of money and then turned around and changed the rules so the next generation cannot do the same thing. I understand why young people are now more open to socialism, and I completely understand why young people are overwhelmingly getting interested in voting for progressive politicians like Mamdani in New York. When you don't feel like there is hope for you to be able to earn money, to be able to have affordable housing, When you feel like nothing is in your control, a lot of people actually start to give up and they start to say, this capitalism thing is not working. I want you to be successful and make a lot of money. I don't expect everyone to become a multi-multi-millionaire, but I want you to have a shot at a good life. And I find it incredibly selfish and dangerous that an older generation just continues siphoning wealth for themselves while systematically disadvantaging Younger people. It's dangerous because when you have tens of millions of younger people who see no path to ever being able to buy a house or ever being able to start a family, they get pissed.
