A short transcript excerpt from a YouTube conversation (Ramit Sethi and others) about optimizing savings and enjoying retirement. Speakers express concern about not having enough money for retirement and balancing enjoyment of later life.
Wanted to have a conversation on how to better optimize our savings for our retirement, how to enjoy the latter half of our life.
Really? Is that true, Stacy?
What the. There were two sides. This is the problem that I'm mostly worried about when we talk about finances. I'm worried that we will not have enough for retirement and that we're, like, enjoying life enough.
Yeah. Okay. You're worried about retirement and you're not worried about the fact that one partner is totally disempowered and disengaged from money. This happens virtually every episode. People come on here, they have deeply psychological or emotional challenges, and they go, you know what I need help with? I need a budget. I need tools. I go, you don't need tools. Why do you think you need tools? It's politically correct for us to think I need a tool. Some magical, tactical solution to what is obviously deeply emotional and psychological. In your case, the way that your dynamic has been co created and reinforced.
