A framework called SMARTS for daily task lists: keep them Short, Motivating, Actionable, Realistic, Tactical, and Strategic. Breaking tasks into granular steps eliminates uncertainty and helps you actually do them, especially if you have ADHD.

This morning I came across an article I was reading on the topic of ADHD, and I came up with this little handy daily strategy for how to build a workable daily task list. I believe this strategy will help both neurotypical and neurodivergent people be more successful with their daily Task list. But just use this, use your SMARTS. And when I say SMARTS, what I mean is very simply, uh, S, make your task list on a daily basis short. Um, M, motivating, which is really critical if you want to get things done. You know, you're going to sit and delay looking at non-motivating stuff. Especially if you have the ADHD. Actionable and realistic, meaning you've broken it down to a point where you don't have uncertainty. You are down to the granular level that makes it easy for you to take the next step. Related to that, you want it to be both tactical and strategic. So short, motivating, actionable, realistic, tactical, and strategic. Because if you consider all of these when you're making your daily task list, I think you make it far more likely that your task list is something you will actually work on and work on consistently and get more things done on a daily basis toward your bigger projects, goals, activities, events. Welcome your thoughts and comments on this. I'm hoping to start posting a lot more of this kind, kind of content in this area as I continue to learn more.
