Once Śrīla Prabhupāda was glorifying the residents of Vṛndāvana and Gurudāsa said, "I think it is better to have you as spiritual master than to be born in Vṛndāvana." And Śrīla Prabhupāda answered, "That is a Vaiṣṇava attitude. I remember that wherever my Guru Mahārāja went, Vṛndāvana was there also. Since a bona fide spiritual master carries the Vṛndāvana atmosphere with him, that is better to be with him." Śrīla Gopāla Kriṣṇa Gosvām Mahārāja is a faithful, chaste, and loyal servant of Śrīla Prabhupāda. And naturally while with us, as well as upon leaving this world, is always with Śrīla Prabhupāda and eternally serving Śrīla Prabhupāda in Vṛndāvana. In a room conversation in Māyāpur on 16th February, 1977, Harishwarī Prabhu said, "When we were in New York this last summer, you said that the spiritual master also has associates who appear along with him to help in his mission." Prabhupāda: "Yes, Kṛṣṇa wants His assistants. The spiritual master also requires assistance. Everything is going on under Kṛṣṇa's direct supervision." Srila Gopal Krishna Gosvami Maharaj, being an eternal associate of Srila Prabhupada, is now again with Srila Prabhupada assisting His Divine Grace in helping souls to come back home, back to Golok Vrindavan.
