In this short teaching, Srila Gopal Krishna Goswami explains that a person immersed in the material world cannot grasp the transcendental nature of divine law because they are dominated by material influences. Drawing on the Bhagavad‑Gita, he notes that Krishna advises humanity to rise above the three material worlds and progress to the mode of goodness, ultimately attaining pure goodness. While performing good deeds helps move toward the mode of goodness, such deeds alone do not guarantee admission to the Kingdom of God. Only by achieving a state of pure goodness—free from material contamination—can one secure entry into the divine kingdom.

The individual, as long as he remains in the material world, he cannot understand the transcendental position of the law because he is under the influence of the material world. So Krishna advises to the mother, Gita, that one should transcend the influence of the three worlds and come to the stage of goodness, pure goodness, whereby one will be able to understand the transcendental nature of the law. The individual, as long as they are in the material mode, they are engaged in performing a variety of sins. It will only come to the mode of goodness then when they perform good deeds. But even the performance of these good deeds cannot guarantee one's ticket, that is, the entrance into the kingdom of God. To enter into the kingdom of God, it is a must that one comes into the state of pure goodness.
