SB 1.17.1 Key to Develop Good Vaiṣṇava Behavior | Rus-Split | 12.2.92 | Gopal Krishna Goswami

Gopal Krishna Goswami teaches how to develop genuine Vaishnava behavior through proper spiritual practice and community conduct. He explains the four social classes and their duties, warns that neglecting chanting and service lets Maya steal your enthusiasm like an uninvited guest, and stresses the importance of addressing each other respectfully as prabhus while avoiding fault-finding.
Chapters
Om Namah Bhagavate Vasudevaya. Om Namah Bhagavate Vasudevaya. Hare Krishna. A microphone and a bad voice is impossible. To speak without a microphone with a bad voice is impossible. Today we are going to start Chapter 16. No, no, no. I'm sorry, 17. Chapter 17 is called Punishment and Reward of Kali. Dadarśanirpa-lanchanam. Dadarśanirpa-lanchanam. So Suta Gosvāmī is describing how Mārādh Parikṣit observed that Lokasudra was dressed up like a king and he was beating a cow and a bull with a club. And in the purport, Prabhupāda is pointing out that in this age of Kali, a major feature is going to be that the sādhūdas are going to be dressed up as the administrators of the state, and as a result, innocent animals are going to be killed. In the Bhāgavad-gītā, Kṛṣṇa states, evāṁ parapara-prapta me māṇ rāja-sva-vidū. This supreme science was coming down through kings who were saintly in character. And because they were saintly in character, they considered the population to be like their own family members. Just like a father is very concerned about the welfare of his children, the leaders of the state would be very concerned about the entire population. In the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, First Canto, it is also explained that if one becomes a leader, without having the necessary qualifications, then after death he has to go through a machine where he's squeezed just like a sugarcane is squeezed through a sugarcane machine. And then the pain is so heavy that he just faints with that pain. So those who manipulate and get elected to a position of responsibility and do not use it to become God conscious and to make the citizens God-conscious are actually going to face heavy karmic reaction. Unfortunately, in today's society, even the so-called religious leaders don't consider it a sin to kill innocent animals, and as a result, large-scale killing of animals is going on. Even in a country like India, where technically killing of cow is illegal, so much killing of cows is going on. So we see that in the purport, Prabhupada is briefly explaining the duties of the four varnas. The four varnas are Brahmins, Kshatriyas, Vaishyas, and Sudras. The four varnas have been compared to different part of the man's body. The Brahmin has been compared to the head, prahmana, the brain. The Kshatriyas to the arms, the Vaishya to the belly, and the Sudras to the legs. And the Brahmin's duty is to follow the religious scriptures and to give the society advice on spiritual practices. The Kshatriya's duty is to protect the weaker sections of society and to do the administration and to defend the citizens. And the Vaishya's duty is to take care of farming and the cows and business activities. And the Sudra is compared to the leg of the body. Just like the leg supports the whole body, the sudra is supposed to serve the other three varnas. In the previous chapter, we have seen how both the cow and the, and the bull are so unhappy because of the godless practices that were beginning to creep into. If the cow and the bull are not protected, then it means you're not protecting your father and mother. And if the cow and the bull is slaughtered then material nature will never be cooperative. So the purpose of this Kṛṣṇa conscious movement is to educate the society to understand brahminical principles. Because unless you have brahminical principles in society, society cannot be peaceful and happy. When the leader is godless, the entire society suffers. We saw this in the case of King Vena. King Vena was completely godless. And as a result, material nature stopped supplying the resources needed for survival. And as a result, all the citizens became unhappy also. So the Bhagavad-gītā was originally given to the saintly kings because the saintly kings fully discharged their spiritual responsibility. So we need a brahminical class in society for society to make progress. Prabhupāda said this movement should go down in history that has changed the direction of the world. That is, this movement should create genuine brahmanas. Yesterday I was requested by some senior devotees to speak about Vaiṣṇava behavior. So Vaiṣṇava behavior can be ideal if we understand this spiritual culture. If we understand the spiritual culture, understand the significance of the various rules and regulations that we are given, then we can embark on this path of pure devotional service. So one may not be a pure devotee in the initial stages, that is to be expected, but if one follows the rules and regulations that one is given, then one comes on the path of pure devotional service. And if one comes on the path of pure devotional service, then eventually he'll become a pure devotee. What is the difference between a neophyte devotee and an advanced devotee? The advanced devotee supposedly has developed spontaneous attraction for Krishna, whereas the neophyte devotee does not have spontaneous attraction to Krishna. But if one follows the process that one is receiving through the guru parampara Then one is executing pure devotional service even though he has not developed spontaneous devotional service. So the reason why these rules and regulations are given is to bring us on the point of pure devotional service. And once we understand the importance of these instructions, and we understand that eventually by following these instructions we will be able to develop spontaneous devotional service, then we can execute it with more enthusiasm. The Bhāgavatam gives the example of the mango. The mango, even when it is raw, it is still called mango, but when it becomes ripe, it becomes more tasty. Similarly, pure devotee executing devotional principles in initial stages is compared to a raw mango, and by continuing to execute regulative principles Eventually that raw mango becomes ripe mango. So the devotee does not take these rules and regulations cheaply. In India, there's a certain class of devotees called the sahajya bhaktas. Sahajya bhaktas are those who don't follow any rules and regulations but just make a— just pretend that they're very religious, and they just bluff the people. Just like if you go to Vrindavan, You may see a lot of people shedding tears, rolling on the ground, crying, 'Where is Krishna? Where is Krishna?' But in the private lives, they, they don't follow any spiritual standards. Devotional service is not on the material platform. Prabhupada said in one letter, if all the devotees of ISKCON are working together, living together, keeping Krishna as the focal point then one is living in Vaikuntha and not this material world. So these temples are not in material cities like Moscow, Leningrad. They were actually in Vaikuntha, but only in Vaikuntha as long as we keep Krishna as the focal point. So how do the devotees stick together? Why do the devotees stay together? Because they want to keep the guru's order in mind. We don't stay together due to some material reasons. Prabhupada created this institution ISKCON so that a situation can be created where people can live together, make Krishna the focal point, and, and work to fulfill Krishna's desires. So devotees, when they live together, they address each other with respect. And how do they address each other with respect? By addressing each other as prabhus. And all the prabhus live together at the feet of Prabhupada, the master of the prabhus. So these various rules and regulations that we have been given are helpful in coming to the point of one day developing spontaneous devotional service. So Krishna is giving his instructions through the disciplic succession. Just like Krishna says, if you surrender to me, I relieve you of your sinful reaction. Like it says in the Bhagavad Gita, Sarvadhama pritajamā mekam śannam vrajaḥ. Hāntam sarvapāpebhyo mokṣam imāso caḥ. That if you give up everything and surrender to Me, I will free you from all sinful reaction. So Kṛṣṇa takes away the karmic reaction when we chant the Holy Name and live by the instructions as they come down in the Guru-paramparā. So the devotee, by following the spiritual standards, by following the spiritual guidelines, he begins to experience genuine love for Krishna. And as he's attaining genuine love, he develops a desire to describe this, the glories of Krishna, to everyone. And if we don't take advantage of these spiritual standards that have been given, then Prabhupada said this is the same as committing spiritual suicide. So sometimes devotees have a tendency to underestimate the value of the various spiritual standards that have been given to us. So that is the same as committing spiritual suicide. Just like the emphasis on chanting and hearing— Krishna Das Kaviraj has said that just like a man becomes weak if he doesn't eat and drink, so similarly, by becoming careless in the chanting and hearing, one becomes spiritually weak. So to destroy the material concept of life It's not so easy in Kali Yuga to destroy the mature concept of life. It needs an effort. Of course, fortunately, the process of self-realization in this age has been greatly simplified due to the mercy of Lord Caitanya. Kali Yuga is both a blessing and a curse. It's a curse because Maya is very dominant. It's a blessing because the process of self-realization has been made very simple. For example, in this age we don't have to follow the path that, for example, Dhruva Maharaj followed. Dhruva Maharaj, for self-realization, had to go to a forest, a madhuvan, where he lived all alone, chanted the mantra Om Namah Bhagavate Vasudevaya, and practiced extreme austerities. So we have to reach a point where with heart, mind and intellect, we have Krishna as a focal point. So I want to repeat, with our heart, mind, and intellect, we have to have Krishna as the focal point, and Krishna's instructions as the focal point. Since time immemorial, innumerable material desires are being stored in the heart, and these material desires have to be replaced with spiritual desires. Therefore, Prabhupada said With heart, mind, and intellect, we should serve Kṛṣṇa. Our intelligence should always be directed to meditate, 'How can I serve Kṛṣṇa?' Through our mind, we should always be thinking about Kṛṣṇa's pastimes and desires. And in the heart, we should have various spiritual desires that we wish to execute. And when we are serving Kṛṣṇa with our heart, mind, and intellect, then we will be able to obtain what is known as genuine devotional service. And if we are executing genuine devotional service, then we are bound to eventually develop spontaneous love for Kṛṣṇa. Kṛṣṇa has advised devotees to ketanādi-sādhāhārī. Caitanya Mahāprabhu also said that devotee's life should be so molded that he can always think of Kṛṣṇa. He's always chanting Kṛṣṇa's name. Because this kīrtana of Kṛṣṇa, chanting of Kṛṣṇa's name, is the principal weapon through which we can eventually develop spontaneous love for Kṛṣṇa. So the devotee's vision is that I have to work for the pleasure of Kṛṣṇa. One obtains spiritual strength and the desire to serve by sincerely executing the process of sādhana-bhakti, the process of devotional service. The purpose of devotional service is it should break the cycle of sinful activities. When we say break the cycle of sinful activities, we mean the following: since times immemorial, the living entity is transmigrating from one body to another body because of executing sinful activities, and unless one stops sinful activities, one cannot develop genuine love for God. So the process of devotional service is a medium through which We can stop sinful activities. And when we execute the process, you get the strength and enthusiasm to serve Krishna. Therefore, this process of devotional service, which begins right in mangal arati in the morning, is a very, very sandwich process which has been given to the conditioned souls of Kali Yuga. If we had to follow the ancient systems that were given in previous ages, it would be impossible in today's environment. So the devotee with firm faith and conviction executes the process of devotional service. As we execute the process of devotional service, we also get the inspiration to serve Krishna during the day. Once the devotee wrote to Prabhupada and said— it was a lady devotee, so she wrote to Prabhupada and said, I'm very confused about devotional service. She said, I'm not sure if I should keep chanting my rounds and execute devotional service or go back to my family. So Prabhupada wrote back and said, are you fully engaged in devotional service? Prabhupada said, are you doing 8 to 10 hours of service every day, or are you just chanting your rounds? So I gave you this example because Prabhupada on many occasions said that unless a devotee, in addition to chanting his rounds and hearing the Bhagavatam class, an attending sadhna bhakti doesn't engage in 8 to 10 hours of service a day, then the mind will be get— will get confused. So the strength from rejecting Maya, the strength to reject the temptation of the illusionary energy, comes from chanting, hearing, and execution of service. Just like to recover from a disease, you just don't need the medicine, but you also need the diet. So the medicine, of course, is the chanting process, chanting and hearing. That is a must for everyone. But then the execution of service during the day is the diet. And if you're not taking the diet and just the medicine, then again spiritual recovery will be very, very slow. So when we're living together as Vaishnavas, an idol-respectful Vaishnava relationship will develop if everyone is taking the medicine and the diet. Otherwise, an idle brain will just attract material thoughts. And when one is not engaged, one will just be meditating, should I serve or go back to Maya? Should I serve or go back to Maya? Every devotee should remember, there is one guest that comes to you without invitation, and you know who that guest is?
Maya.
Maya comes to you without invitation. Maya doesn't wait for Prabhu Andre or Prabhu so-and-so to call her. Maya is always ready to steal your intelligence. So if you're not taking the medicine, if you're not following the diet, then Maya is definitely going to confuse you. And the result of this confusion is going to be lack of enthusiasm. What does lack of enthusiasm mean? You don't want to serve. You're just looking for excuses to serve. Just like once a devotee wrote to Prabhupada and said, I take all day to finish my 16 rounds. Prabhupada said that is nonsense. He said you must finish your rounds in the morning and then go on with prescribed duty during the daytime. So we have to understand the importance of both medicine and diet. And if you understand the importance of both, only then can you create good vajra relationships. After all, good vajra relationships are not based on artificial humility. I'll give you few examples of artificial humility. Just like when you take an Aeroflot flight, when you're getting out of the plane, the air hostess stands at the gate and says, "Dasvidaniya, spasibo," to everyone who walks out. You go to a hotel, they receive you with smiling words and very nice good morning and very nice sweet words of welcome. So these are known as artificial— this is known as artificial humility. And artificial humility does not satisfy anyone. Therefore, you have so many wars going on, misunderstandings going on all over the planet. So devotee, however, wants to cultivate genuine Vaiṣṇava principles, because by following genuine Vaiṣṇava principles, there will be an ideal Vaiṣṇava behavior of devotees which will be pleasing to each other. Now, I've already made the point to you quoting Prabhupāda's purport in the Bhāgavatam, 3rd Canto, where Prabhupāda says these temples are in Vaikuntha as long as Kṛṣṇa is the focal point. Now many times when devotees are living in the temple, they may see a lot of faults in other devotees. And sometimes when devotees, even when they're living outside and they frequent the temple regularly, they may find so many discrepancies in the behavior of devotees. So we have to understand realistically that even though these temples are in Vaikuntha, the Vaikuntha atmosphere is not 100% possible because the devotees living here have, have been, have come from a heavy association with the lujuri energy. In the temples, Vaikuntha atmosphere is there. But even if some imperfections are there, the gain of the Vaishnava atmosphere is far more important than some gain, than some discrepancy that you may notice. Therefore, a devotee realizes that he's not a part-time religionist. Part-time religionist means I only chant my rounds, I only do a little bit of reading or whatever, and then rest of the day I do my own thing. So to be a full-time religionist, it is important that one be engaged in service 24 hours a day. Now, in some genuine cases, a person may even have, have to do a job outside to maintain his family. Still, he would be considered a full-time religionist if during the day he just thinking of Krishna. So we have to become full-time devotees. That means constant engagement in service of Krishna through the various senses. Devotee realizes that he has to work for Krishna's pleasure, and when he's working for Krishna's pleasure, then he gets a taste of devotional service. And as you get the taste of devotional service, you can give up your taste for inferior activities. We have examples how, how, like Yudhishthira and Parakṣita, ruled over their kingdoms with the purpose of protecting the citizens and making them Krishna conscious. We have examples of how Arjuna and Hanuman acted to serve the Lord's instructions. Then great scholars like Jīvā Gosvāmī and Baladeva debbūsaṇa, they wrote volumes of books to establish the supreme position of Kṛṣṇa. Gandhari, how she was so loyal to her husband Dhṛtarāṣṭra and she was completely absorbed in service of the Lord. And how Lord Caitanya and Nityānanda spread the holy name so everyone could take advantage of it and become perfect. So meditating on these examples that we cited, we can also analyze and determine how we can serve Krishna fully. Therefore, constant engagement in the process of devotional service is a must. And a Vaishnava is able to maintain good relationship with other Vaishnavas by offering respect to everyone. Therefore, Prabhupada introduced the system of addressing each other as prabhus. And we address each other generally as prabhus and have respect for the other person's service, then automatically good Vaishnava relationships will develop. So with this background, somebody may want to ask, why is it that bad Vaishnava relationships develop? So the cause for poor Vaishnava relationships is our inability to follow the process of self-realization that has been given. Because we do not follow the process of full faith, our discrepancies and anarthas get magnified. And when these anarthas get magnified, the result is there is discrepancy in Vaiṣṇava behavior. We are rude with each other, we fight with each other, we criticize each other, we distrust each other. Another great fortune in Kali-yuga is the ability to hear the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam on a regular basis. Prabhupāda said this is the greatest boon to humanity, the ability to hear the Bhāgavatam on a regular basis. Why is the Bhāgavatam considered the greatest boon to humanity? Because the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam gives you the philosophy and the strength, as a result of which you can break your knot of entanglement. Therefore, Prabhupāda made the attendance of these classes compulsory, because hearing transcendental messages is a powerful tool to destroy sinful seeds. Vaiṣṇava is always appreciating other person's service. Once a devotee wrote to Prabhupāda greatly praising the service of his godbrothers. Prabhupāda wrote back and said, "This is very good. This is very good that you are appreciating the qualities of your other godbrothers and godsisters." Because when you are appreciating the other devotee's good qualities, then automatically you'll also develop a sense of respect in the heart. Whereas if you are criticizing them all the time, then naturally the mind will get more critical, and eventually it'll become offensive. And an offensive relationship with Vaishnavas can completely uproot your whole devotional service. In the story of the Rāsa Muni and Ambrish Mahāj, we see that the Rāsa Muni, because he had an envious attitude towards Ambrish Mahāj, eventually he, he— even the demigods could not help him. Therefore, Caitanya Mahāprabhu has called this the mad elephant offense. So we can avoid our offensive attitude towards other Vaiṣṇavas by developing the ability to look at everyone's good points. So if we execute the instructions that one receives through the guru-paramparā for the pleasure of Kṛṣṇa, then one will also be enthusiastic to serve. So to summarize, the process of sādhana-bhakti is the key to developing good Vaiṣṇava behavior. Execution on the spiritual standards is the key to developing attraction to Kṛṣṇa. And as we develop a taste for Kṛṣṇa, we'll have the ability to give up a taste for sense enjoyment. In the second chapter of the Bhāgavad-gītā, Kṛṣṇa clearly states that one cannot give up his taste for inferior activities till he has developed the higher taste. So our request to everyone is to endeavor to develop the higher taste, to please take advantage of the special benediction that the age of Kali offers. But don't ask Krishna for any more concessions. Don't ask the spiritual master for any more concessions. Whatever concessions had to be given have already been given by Prabhupada. Just like at one time we Vaishnavas were chanting 64 rounds a day, but Prabhupada reduced it to 16 rounds. So that devotees could chant as well as preach. So ideal Vaiṣṇava community can be established as long— once— as long as Kṛṣṇa is the focal point. And when Kṛṣṇa is the focal point, then even if there are some minor discrepancies, one is considered to be living in Vālkānta. So to summarize the verse, Asuta Gosvāmī is pointing out how Parikṣit Mahārāja saw this sudra who was dressed up as a king And Prabhupada in the purport explains how in Kali Yuga the soldiers have assumed the position of leadership, and as a result of which innocent animals are being slaughtered. So the Krishna conscious movement, as we have said again, as we have said before, Prabhupada wanted it to go down in history as a movement that has changed the direction of the world. And that can happen when an ideal community of Vaishnavas is established. And an ideal Vaishnava community can be established If we respect and follow the rules and regulations that have been given to us and that we briefly discussed, and if we are following the ideal Vaiṣṇava standards, then naturally there will be spiritual happiness. And the nature of this spiritual happiness is it is unending. So Lord Caitanya is making this process available to everyone. Prabhupāda said this movement is destined to go to every town and village of the world because it is Lord Caitanya's prediction. But if you help make it possible, then you will get the credit. Otherwise, somebody else will claim the credit. So if you have a chance to take the credit, why shouldn't you take it? Hare Krishna. Hare Krishna. So I'll just take on 2-3 questions, and I want to talk a little bit about sankirtan. Actually, I have a very important sankirtan announcement to make, which your devotees may like. Maybe I'll just talk about sankirtan and then take your question. So about 2 weeks ago, before I went traveling, we had our sankirtan session in which we have a lot of meeting with sankirtan devotees, and we had requested the devotees that they must be enthusiastic. And the enthusiasm to serve will come from sincerely executing the morning program. So the morning program is a key to your developing enthusiasm to serve during the day. Therefore, we should not try for any concessions from the morning program. Now, many devotees have been complaining that the cost of the books has gone a little too high. Of course, as we explained and as all of you know, everything in the market has gone up. As a result, we were also forced to raise the prices. And Krishna Kumar was saying that in 2 weeks the prices are again going to go up 2-3 times. And after another month or two, again they are going to go up. Some of you may say that communism was better than capitalism. Anyway, now it's too late to turn the clock back. So you devotees have to understand that we will have to adjust to the changes in pricing that develop in the market. Actually, in a way, it is good that we are speaking towards a larger audience because there are many congregational members who live outside who also help in book distribution, who are present over here at the moment. I understand that in the Prabhupada marathon in December, about 150 people took part, and a lot of them were grihastas and devotees living outside the temple. So we want to request everyone to very respectfully meditate on the importance of Vaishnava principles that Prabhupada and the parampara have given us, and that we briefly discussed today. Because that is the key to our developing a taste and our desire to have mind, intellect, and heart work for Krishna. So in order to adjust, we have decided to adjust the prices for a temporary 2 or 3 week period till the market prices go up again. What did the sankirtan devotees think? Do they think that if we adjust the price and lower it a little bit and then again increase it when the prices go up again? Will that make any difference? Will that hurt? So the sankirtan devotees feel we should keep the same prices? Okay, so then if all the sankirtan devotees feel that we should keep the prices, then we should keep— then we will keep the prices. Yamaraj Prabhu was feeling that maybe we, uh, in order to increase book distribution. If the devotees wanted to adjust prices, then he was thinking of adjusting. Okay, so now I'll take on questions on the class for a few minutes only.
Life of fear.
This is real.
And fear, fear.
So follow the Vedic tradition instead of concocting things. Prabhupada did not like concoctions. So our tradition is Prabhu, and we should stick to Prabhu. Just by using a new word, you're not going to get some better ideas.
Is it, is it necessary to force the mind to change?
Thank you, Maharaj.
Is it necessary to force the mind to change now? That is the hard part, just to sing the Hare Krishna.
The mind has to be forced, just like a child may be forced to take medicine. If you don't force the mind to follow discipline, then the mind will completely ruin your devotional life.
One should not be angry, but harmonize with others, making sacrifices for them. How should he show this behavior? And in which state of mind? And you know, what should be his thought while he's happy?
His— a devotee, if he sees somebody else doing more service than him, he should just pray so that he may also be able to serve like him. The fault-finding devotees is very, very bad. Just like when Prabhupāda went to the West and he established Krishna Consciousness centers, when he came back to India, many of his, many of his godbrothers started to just criticize him. So Prabhupāda used to say, then instead of appreciating what he's done to fulfill his Guru Mahārāja's order, they just, uh, fault-finding.
Yeah.
If you want to find— point out some faults that you see in another prabhu, do it respectfully and nobody will mind it. And we should be respectful to senior prabhus in the ashram also. A very important element in Vaishnava behavior is the desire to respect, and the strength to respect comes from faith in the process of bhakti. Okay, yes. Sudra can become a Brahmana. Actually, in the beginning of the lecture, I told— I told you one thing, which was an advanced devotee has spontaneous attraction for Krishna, but a neophyte devotee does not have that attraction. However, if the neophyte devotee follows the principles of pure devotional service, then he's also rendering pure devotional service even though he may be impure. The strength is in the process, not in the individual who's executing the process. So the process must be respected and followed by everyone, and then the raw mango will become ripe mango.
Is it possible to chant the Shri Rādhā Nāmāmārāja in some melody?
In some melody? Well, it's better to do japa in a straight manner without melody, and in melodies you can do kirtan. Whenever in kirtan, it is better to follow traditional melodies rather than concoct melodies. Just like if you're doing mangala arati, there's a special mangala arati melody. There are special melodies for different types, for different times of the day. So this is a very scientific process.
Has no great enthusiasm to chant his rounds and execution.
If somebody has no enthusiasm to chant his rounds, then he should not live in an ISKCON temple, because the ISKCON temples are meant to create Vaishnavas. Vaishnava is higher than a Brahman. So, and the key to becoming a Vaishnava is chanting and execution of sadhana bhakti, not chanting your rounds. Prabhupada said in one letter, is the same as committing suicide. When Chaitanya Mahāprabhu asked Haridas Thakura, what is your disease? Haridas said, my disease is I'm not completing my round. But his rounds were 300,000 rounds a day. So, okay, Yes, you can get that standard from some senior Mataji. In every temple you have some senior Matajis, you can get it from them. So Prabhupada, I'm not going to take any more questions because it's getting a little late. Uh, I want to thank all of you for coming to the programs. I'm going to be leaving tonight for Vrindavan, for India, and I hope that all of you will take advantage of the points that have been discussed in the classes over the past, over the past few days. And I just want to repeat one point which Prabhupada said again and again, why a devotee gets confused about pure devotional service, and that is constant engagement in devotional service. If in addition to chanting your rounds and, and the falling sadhana bhakti, you're not engaged in devotional service, you will keep getting confused whether you should serve or not serve. And the result of this confusion will be loss of enthusiasm. And the result of loss of enthusiasm will be loss of love for Kṛṣṇa. And the result of loss of love for Kṛṣṇa is going to be attachment once again to material objects. And the result of attraction to material objects is going to be once again entanglement in sensual activities and birth and death. So every devotee, whether you are living in the temple or you're living outside the temple, must have a schedule that from morning to night is fully booked up in service to Krishna. Even if someone's a grihasta doing a job outside, doesn't matter, that can also be considered Full devotional service. If Krishna is the focal point and with the results of one's work, one is serving Krishna. Okay, Hare Krishna. Hare Krishna.
