Srila Srivas Pandit Disappearance | 9 july 2018 | ISKCON Los Angeles | Śrīla Gopāla Kṛṣṇa Goswāmī

In this recorded Sunday program at ISKCON Los Angeles, the speaker (Śrīla Gopāla Kṛṣṇa Goswāmī / Srila Srivas Pandit) welcomes attendees and explains the purpose of the weekly program: to provide spiritual association, especially for newcomers, and to advance Krishna consciousness. He declares the day auspicious, recounts various pastimes of Caitanya Mahāprabhu and Srīva Sādhus—stories of Srīva’s ecstatic kīrtan, the envious Brahmin Gopalchāpa, the consequences of the ten offenses, and the mercy shown by Srīva and Caitanya. The lecture emphasizes the importance of avoiding the ten offenses, cultivating genuine sadhu‑saṅgha, and maintaining regular association with devotees. Central to the teaching is the primacy of chanting the Hare Krishna mantra, reading Prabhupāda’s books, and using modern tools (e.g., smartphones) responsibly for devotional purposes. Practical advice includes daily chanting, reading the Bhagavad‑gītā, attending temple regularly, and serving the community. The speaker answers a brief Q&A, affirming that the path has no secret—consistent practice, association, and devotion lead to spiritual advancement.

Om namo bhagavate vasudevaya! Om namo bhagavate vasudevaya! Om namo bahuvate vasudevaya! Om namoh shivayat devaye! Om namah prasadam nandasyaam! Hare Krishna! Hare Krishna! Class goes on to 6:00 or 6:15? Hare Krishna. Hare Krishna. I'd like to welcome everyone to our Sunday program. Prabhupāda started the Sunday program to give everyone, especially those new at home, who get spiritual association and an opportunity to come to the temple, take part in the spiritual programs, and help us to advance Krishna consciousness. Can you hear me in the back? No? Yes. I have a soft voice and I think the mic has a soft voice too. I'll try to shout. Today, as you know— okay, now. Today, as you know, is a very auspicious day. Why is it auspicious? Why? Is the deliverance here all? We'll discuss that briefly and talk more some of that issue. The Caitanya Mahāprabhu is just crying at the supreme personality of Godhead. Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa incarnated as Caitanya Mahāprabhu. Lord Vālaṁ incarnated as Mahāvishnu incarnated as Advaita Charya, Prāhlādaṇī incarnated as Girāḍa, and Nārada Mūrī incarnated as Śrīvāsṣrama. The Śrīvāsṣrama, the Śrīvāṣṣraṇa, is considered to be an incarnation of Nārada Mūrī, And then Panchadatta appeared to save fallen people of Kali-yuga. And Dwarakaṇḍaśvatara says, Śrī Kṛṣṇa dice, pati pāvanitvam avāmatah— You appear to save the fallen people of Kali-yuga. So there are many wonderful pastimes associated with Shiva's tapas. You know, it is perfumes. And she is Shiva Sundaram. How many of you have been to Shiva Sundaram? Shiva Sundaram, which is not too far from the Krishna, from the Mahakrishna Dhamanda, is considered to be the second Vrindavan. Chetanamāprabhu, started his sankirtana movement from there. 3 wives and 3 brothers, 4 brothers in total, and they used to regularly study the Bhāgavatam from one great ācārya, and they used to perform kīrtana. Caitanya Mahāprabhu started his under that movement from Śrīvāsanda. And it was in Śrīvāsanda that the Kālī sent his men and broke the madhānta. Śrīvāsādhārṣī Taniyā would perform very ecstatic kīrtana in Śrīvāsanda. He would go on doing kīrtana all night. And Caitanya Mahāprabhu was displaying very, very unique līlās. And Caitanya Mahāprabhu has said that only the most confidential devotees, those who are very dear devotees, were allowed to be present. Where the Lord was performing very ecstatic kīrtan. So others were not allowed, and as a result, many other people in Navadvīpa became enemies of Lord Caitanya. When there is a nice līrā, when Lord Caitanya was performing His kīrtan, there was once His mother-in-law, was hiding behind one of the doors. She had a strong desire to see these chariots dancing, but she didn't want to move. So she took permission from her son-in-law, Śrīvās, and she was hiding behind the door through a small hole. Looking at the child. Aaj chitta nu janthe ke nexa se. He stopped all of a sudden and said, "There's someone here who should not be here." And she was— started searching. And they found that his mother-in-law was hiding behind the door to see the kid. She wanted to see He said, "I killed her." And then she was removed. There was another Brahmin boy. This Brahmin had not eaten any grains. He was living just on milk and fruits. He never told a lie in his life. He was very, very austere, but he lacked He wasn't fixed. He was beautiful. So, what to tell you, once again, we're doing these standing kirtans, and we were doing these kirtans, all of a sudden he stopped. He said, "There's someone here who should not be here." And she was given permission. The Brahmin boy would go every day to Sīvā and say, "Please allow me to watch Lord Caitanya's ecstasy standing dancing. I am very austere." And Sīvā would say, "Yes, I know you are qualified, but Lord doesn't want. He wants only His intimate devotees to be present." And then Sīvā allowed him. Lord Chaitanya then stopped and the Brahmin boy was waiting there. Lord Chaitanya then said, "This boy should not be allowed here." And the boy got chastised, but he thought it was worth it when he got such great pleasure in seeing the Lord done. And then by the Lord's mercy, he became a great devotee. About the Lord's places, Śrī Kṛṣṇa is there. He surrendered, became a devotee. There was one brahman in the neighborhood of Śrīvāda, where there was Gopāda Temple. This brahman was very envious "Oh Śrīvāṣṭhiva," he would say, "he is getting so much mercy. Lord Caitanya is dancing over there every day. This Śrīvāṣṭhiva sannyāsa has become like Vṛndāvana." So he made a plan to defame Śrīvāṣṭhiva. What did he do? He placed a path near here. For worshiping Durga, which included meat, liquor in front of the door. So she was very got up the next morning to open his door and there is all this paraphernalia for worshiping Durga. In Bhagavad-gītā, Prabhupāda says there is a competition between Devotee of Durga and the devotee of Krishna. So he kept all the paraphernalia for worshipping Durga. The Shiva, when he opened the door, he saw this liquor bottle, meat, and all kinds of animalish stuff that is normally offered to Durga. Shiva said, "Neighbors, come and see." "I am not really a devotee of Kṛṣṇa. I am in reality a devotee of Durga. This is the proof." No one believed it. And they hired a callous people. And with the yellow cow dung they cleaned the whole place. This Brahmin, Gopalchapa, was very envious of Śrī Jīvānanda. What happened? 3 days after this incident, he got infected by very serious leprosy. His whole body was contaminated. He had boils all over his body, heavy pus in each of the boils. His body was smelling., and he was forced to leave the village and go to a secluded place. His sufferings started. He saw Lord Chaitanya was going to the Ganga to take a bath, and he said, "You have delivered, you have appeared to deliver the poor and so on." Please deliver me. Lord Caitanya said, "You, for what you did to Śrīvās, you shall suffer for 10 million births." So he went on suffering. And then Lord Caitanya in the meantime went to Jagannāthpuri. And then when He came back, and He was going to the Ganga for His bath, The Brahmin again approached Him. He said, "I have suffered long enough. Now please pardon me. Please help me. Please save me." The Lord said, "I can't save you. I can't pardon you. But Śrīvās is very merciful. If you approach him," He went forward and he laid his head at His foot, upāl chapalā, went to Śrīvāsāda, begged forgiveness for his offense, and Śrīvāsāda forgave him and said, "Never repeat this again." So it is said that in the scriptures, vākṣṭraṁ of PRASAD RAVALĀ, It's very dangerous. Prabhupāda often used to say, compare it to a man-elephant. Every day in our temples we chant the Ten Offenses. It was the first offense? Yes. Every day we are reminded. We should all avoid the Ten Offenses. Māho janmākarayā nishāum rakha-dhannās. Kṛṣṇa Kavirāja says, "When they go on chanting of holy names, birth after birth, then let one learn to say, 'Boy, dear Prasada, you're not going to love God.'" Sacīmātā had a little bit of anger in her heart. She was very upset with that Veda-jaya. She held him responsible. For her older son leaving home, and now for the younger son leaving home. So the devotees would tell the Lord, "You are bestowing your mercy on everyone. Why aren't you being merciful to your mother?" And the Lord said, "My mother has offended." And what was her offense? She had a misgiving. What a loser! So, and when devotees would go to Advaita Acharya and say, "Sachi Mata has offended you," he would say, "No! How is this possible? She is the mother of the Supreme Personality of Godhead." But later when Advaita Acharya was offering obeisance to the Lord, Sachi Mata came from behind, took the dust, placed it on her forehead, And then along with that, now my mother is forgiven. Now she can hear the Holy Book. So, Acharya Chaitanya emphasized that we should be very cautious on the devotional path. And he gave the example of his own mother, that even she was not exempted from this affair. In the Bhāgavata we read about how Drona asamuni, was envious of Amrit. So on the devotional path, we should avoid this man elephant offense. Caitanya Mahāprabhu said, "The beautiful garden of devotional service can be ruined if a man elephant is allowed to come in." So this Gopalchāpala was finally forgiven by You are. One day, Lord Caitanya was going to the Ganga to take a bath, and one of the individuals was not allowed to come in. Swami Brahman said, "I wanted to come in yesterday to participate in your satsang, kirtan, and I was not allowed." He took his Brahman thread and said, "I curse you that you will be bereft of all material happiness." What did the Lord say? "Thank you very much." If somebody gives us a curse, we should thank him. Lord Caitanya started a sampradaya movement, asa-dhīyā-dhāṇga, and that was opposed by Many. The smarter Brahmins opposed it because they were losing their income. Before Lord Caitanya's inauguration of the Sankirtan movement, the smarter Brahmins were making money doing yajñas and getting people more involved with the truth. Lord Caitanya introduced the Sankirtan movement. In which everyone can put many, many priests. So the Hindus also went to the Qazi and protested, "This imam has started a process that is complete concoction. It is not there in the Hindu dharma." And the imam then would say, "If you don't stop this samvidhan process, then what will happen? All the Muslims will become Hindus." So later on, the Kadi sent his men to bring them to Dangal. And where did he send them? Where, where, where? Shiva Dangal. Poor Mangat Dangal, they put this as another name. So Lord Chaitanya gave a lot of mercy to Shiva. Shiva was so dedicated to Lord Chaitanya. Then on one occasion, when the aesthetic killed her, was in full swing, Śrīvāsa, one of his four sons, was very sick. He died. And when he died, his mother Māleṇī and the other ladies in the household started to cry. Śrīvās knew what happened, but he didn't want to disturb the ecstatic kīrtan. They were being executed by Lord Janardana. But as they were dancing in ecstasy, Vācchitānya all of a sudden stopped. He said, "Some disastrous event has taken place." I am not getting the same ecstasy that I always used to get. And she was, she was, "My son has died." She was new that his son has passed away. But he was so concerned about Lord Chaitanya's activity that he didn't want to disturb her. So Śrīvāsa said, the Lord said, "Why didn't you tell me? Why didn't you tell me earlier that your son has died?" Śrīvāsa said, "I didn't want to disturb your kids." He had so much love for the Lord. So, the Lord by His divine potency brought the dead son back to life. And said, "Why are you going? Why are you leaving your father and going?" And the dead son said, "My Lord, I came here for a limited duration, and now my period is over. Time for me to go. Now according to Your will," I'll transfer the gate to another boy. Shiva had such great affection. Shiva had a servant in the house whose name was Dukhi. Do all of you know the meaning of Dukhi? What does Dukhi mean? Sad. Her name was Miss that. Good day. She would every day go to the Ganga, bring water in a big pot, and very neatly keep it. Lord Chaitanya, after His bathing, would take that water to take a bath. And she would arrange the pots very neatly. So Lord Chaitanya Mahāprabhu was very impressed. Who is this person who is bringing water from the Ganga, keeping it so neatly? He is going to Śrīvāma, who is this person? Śrīvāsādhva. The person who does that is our maidservant, whose name is Dukhi, which means miserable, sad. But Lord Caitanya Mahāprabhu, "No, now we should change her name. Her name will be now onwards Sukhidāsī." Sukhi means? This world, happy. So what does this convey to us? Before coming to Kṛṣṇa consciousness, we were all duḥkī and duḥkī-dāsa and duḥkī-dāsi. We were all miserable. We were struggling to find happiness. Am I right? What do people do in material life? They endeavor so hard to find happiness. Watch movies. Watch World Cup, watch this, live in that, live in— What is materialistic society promoting? It's just promoting activity by which you can have more sense enjoyment. Just like you have these smartphones now. These smartphones are a blessing and a curse. Am I right? There are curses if you want to misuse it. You don't have to go to nightclubs anymore. You can watch every pornography, gamble, everything. But it's a blessing if you want to put Deity pictures, Prabhupāda books in it. Whoever thought a day would come when you would be able to carry all of Prabhupāda's books in your pocket? That for the devotee. So us, but before, you can carry all of Prabhupāda's books, the devotees use it correctly, non-devotees misuse it. So we are all dūkī-dāsa and dāsī. But if we engage in devotional service to the Lord, Doesn't matter which part of the body you are in, then you become suki. As Kṛṣṇa says in Bhāgavad-gītā, brahma-bhūta-paśunātmā na so'jādīna-kampradī. One who is transcendently situated is always joyful. Caitanya Mahāprabhu instructed His followers to chant the Hare Kṛṣṇa mantra. In 7th century. So Chaitanya Mahāprabhu, in this Ekśāstraṣṭhaka, he summarizes the entire Vedic philosophy in 8 verses. And in the very first verse, in the opening line, the Lord says, ceto-deva-māṇana, one man from Channagowri name, the Ārka clan, Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu says, Ananda-bhūti vartanā. By the chanting of the Holy Name, you will realize unending happiness. The Holy Name, if chanted attentively, gives us unending happiness, which cannot be achieved by any mundane effort. So Caitanya Mahāprabhu started as Sri Vasudeva Prasad, and his Dukhi became Dukhi. There was a Mohammedan tailor in Sri Vasudeva's house. The Mohammedan tailor would be stitching clothes for Sri Vasudeva's family members. We get the ad, "Didi dresses made in India." Most of them were made by Mohammedan craftsmen. But this Mohammedan tailor had the opportunity to see Lord Caitanya's ecstatic dancing, and he said, "I have seen, I have seen, I have seen!" And he got so much mercy from the Lord that he became a great devotee of the Lord. So Śrīvāsa was a very dedicated devotee of the Lord. There are many parts of Nāracitanya exhibited in sādhūja form also in Śrīvāsa's house. And Śrīvāsa was very dedicated to the Kṛṣṇa Mahāprabhu. Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu is described as the most merciful of all the Predators. And while instructing Sanatana Gosvāmī, Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu emphasized 5 things that are important for spiritual advancement. Sanatana Gosvāmī and Rūpa were at one time all in very important positions. But they surrendered their positions to serve the Lord. The Caitanya Mahāprabhu instructed Rūpa Gosvāmī and Sanātananda Prasāda, devotional servants. The Caitanya Mahāprabhu emphasized 5 points is very important with Kṛṣṇa consciousness. What are the 5 points? Sādhū, What is the sangha? Second? What is second? Nāma kirtana. Third? Quick. Fourth? Or, Los Angeles was. Los Angeles also was down. The power came yesterday. So Lord Caitanya has said these 5 activities are very necessary if you want to make spiritual advancement. The first one is what? Adarshan. Sadhu sannyasana sangha, evaśrāta gāyaḥ. Āumāna sannyasana sangha, evaśrībhi gāyaḥ. So what is it to those who are fixed on the devotion of God? When we use the word sadhu, it does not mean somebody is wearing saffron robes and long hair. Sadhu means one who has spiritual qualification. Lord Deva Rūpa wanted to know, "How do I recognize a sadhu?" He wanted to feel as if they are saying, "Dikṣākaro vikānaḥ, śrūdaḥ sādhava-dhikṣaṇaḥ, yetaḥ sādhava-saṇṣaḥ, ādyaṣādhava-muktiḥ." So sadhu must have spiritual qualities. So if you associate with a genuine sadhu, Then he'll get the real blessing. In the fourth canto, we read the story of Dhruva. How Dhruva Maharaj was insulted by his stepmother, and how he practiced austerity, and eventually had darshan of the Lord. So the Lord told him, Dhruva, ask from me any benediction that you may desire. And Rīvā said, "My dear Lord, if You want to give me a benediction, give me a benediction that I may have the opportunity to associate with advanced devotees so that I can make riches and wealth." This is the desire of a devotee, that I may get sādhana-saṅgha. This sādhana-saṅgha It is very important. In the voice we read in all the purports, the importance. And this sādhana-saṅgaha helps us to advance quickly. Prabhupāda started the Sunday program. Why? As a means for others to get sādhana-saṅgaha. But this point, the desire Where so she received the people, this is mentioned with all the sages. Prasad RAVAL is part of Sadhu Sangha. So, we should mould our life in such a way we can get Sadhu Sangha. Lord Caitanya went on a tour of southern India, and before He started His tour, He was advised by Sarvoparicharya, that when he goes to the south, he's going to meet a great devotee called— call who? Ramana Maharshi. So they met on the banks of the Godavari. This Kṛṣṇa had a nice temple at that location. And he did a mahā-bhāgavatī, asked many questions. One of the questions he asked was, "What is the most painful event for a devotee?" What is most painful? And what will he answer? Who knows? Apart from separation from the devotee, I do not know any unbearable pain. Unbearable pain, you know, these days in medical science pain management is very important. I once asked a doctor, "How do you manage pain? Pain is pain." What pain management is, they give you different medicines at different times to reduce the pressure, okay. Anyway, the Lord Ravana said, "Apart from separation from devotees of Kṛṣṇa, you don't have any unbearable pain." So when we get separated from devotees, earlier we were talking about Vaishnava prāsa. What happens when we do Vaishnava prāsa? If we do Vaishnava prāsa, we begin to lose taste of the Holy Name. We begin to get distant from the devotee. And as a result, our spiritual life gets weakened. So, our endeavor should be to constantly associate with the devotee. And we should take it one day at a time. Every opportunity to associate. Now, if you associate with genuine sadhus, then you'll get a real message. If you associate with fake sadhus, you'll get a false message. What is the genuine message of a sadhu? Hainam, hainam, hainam evakeva. Aloha naste, vandaste, namaskīr.— that benefit that he could derive in sati-yoga, chanting by meditation, or that benefit that he could derive in kṛṣṇa-yoga by elaborate yajñas, that benefit that he could derive by offering offerings, The same anybody can get by chanting the Holy Name. In Satyayuga, the lifespan was 100,000 years. Treta Yuga was 10 times less. Dwapara Yuga was 10 times less. So this chanting the Holy Name is a prime medium for spiritual advancement in this Kali Yuga. So this chanting is are the most important action. If we chant the Holy Names attentively, the results will be positive. Rūpa Gosvāmī gave us many wonderful books, and one of them is a book called Deśambara. In the Deśambara, he says, the Holy Name of the Lord is sweet like sugar candy. The pastimes of the Lord are sweet like sugar candy. The qualities of the Lord are sweet like sugar candy. Everyone likes sweet stuff, am I right? That's why so many people have diabetes now. It is good for the dentist. He has a cavity. Anyway, everyone likes sweet. So it's, uh, 'ho nīnāma śrī.' So with this Śrī, we should be naturally attracted to the chanting process all the time, isn't it? But Rūpa Gosvāmī said, "We have a problem." The problem is— what's the problem? Who knows? Huh? What is that disease called? What did Rūpa Gosvāmī call that disease? Avidyā. But due to avidyā, we cannot taste the sweetness of the Holy Name. Due to avidyā. That's why sometimes you have blisters in the tongue. So when you have blisters in the tongue, even if somebody gives you something very palatable, you won't be able to enjoy it. So Prabhupāda Mahāprabhu says, Due to avidyā, we can't taste the sweetness of the Holy Name. So someone may say, the group of Kusama is saying, "Due to avidyā, we can't taste the sweetness of the Holy Name. So what hope is there for me? Is there any hope?" Does Kṛṣṇa say in the Bhāgavad-gītā, devaśya kūna māy mama māyā dura teya? Does He say yes or no? Yeah? Yes. He says to work on the yogic energies, very difficult. Then someone will say, "Oh, if Kṛṣṇa says it is difficult, then what hope is there for me?" But then Kṛṣṇa will say, What does he say in the next line? Mām evo vāpya-pabandhanti māyām atām. But if you surrender to me, then you can overcome. So similarly, Rūpa Gosvāmī says, the Holy Name is sweet, but due to the avidyā factor, lust, anger, greed, envy, hatred, etc., we can't taste the sweetness. But, If you chant attentively, then what will happen? Your video will get cured and the taste will be pure. Just like in the material condition, as the temperature goes down, you can relish your prasad more and more. So this chanting of the Hohini for everyone is most important. Ṛgdeva Mahāprabhu now says, "I have brought the medicine to cure you." What is the medicine? Hṛgdeva Mahāprabhu, what does He say? Viyata-kavadi-nako, tathā hāni-poketāno. Doesn't matter which āśrama you belong to, Please chant the Holy Name. In happiness or in distress, please chant the Holy Name. So if you are in association of devotees, then you will get the real message. You will be reminded. Sometimes we all get illusioned and we think we can postpone the chanting. But if you are in devotee association, you're constantly doing it. Now, there's no spiritual life without chanting. Chanting is the foundation for spiritual life. You must chant on a regular basis. So, sīrī viṣṭeṇī, sādhu-saṅgha, and that will give you real pleasure. And through this chanting process, different anathas get cleansed. Prabhupāda, when he started the movement in America, he just told them only to chant. They only started chanting, and after a few days, a few weeks, they came to Prabhupāda and said, "Swāmi, you only want us to follow any rules?" And Swāmi said, 'This is what I was waiting for, that he would come and ask.' So, it's that experience. If you chant your rounds attentively, then Chaitanya Mahāprabhu works fast. And if you don't chant attentively, regularly, seriously, then what happens? The dirt remains. Sometimes we say, "I'm chanting Your Holy Name for such a long time, but my anarthas are still troubling me." Why are they troubling? They're troubling because our chanting is defective. Committing offenses, reading rational prasada, prasādhapa, criticism, and angerism. We don't get the whole thing. So therefore, if you are in the association of devotees, they will help you remain on the right path. Prasada Maharaj's father wanted to know, "What is the best subject Maharaj learned in school?" Prasada's father was very angry at Sundaramaratha, his teacher. He would say, "Who is trying to brainwash my son? You are not watching. It appears that the Vaiṣṇavas are coming in disguise." And Sādhana Mārākha would say, "Sir, we are Brahmins. Don't falsely accuse us. We are so double-willed. But don't worry, we'll take care of your son." So, at one point he said, "Okay, now you can test." And then Phalajpada asked him, "Amongst all the subjects you have learnt, what is the best?" What did Phalaj respond? What did he respond by saying? Science. Science won, Prasad RAVAL. I don't care, remember this word. That is shanam ketanam.— is a must. And the nature of this trance is also holy name. You can chant day and night and not get tired. The materialists often wonder, "How can he chant the same name every day and not get tired?" Because there's a spiritual nature to the holy name. So, if you want to generate the spiritual association, then you'll have Then you'll get the real message. Is that not what Caitanya said? Read the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, read the Bhāgavad-gītā. These books of knowledge are essential. You read the books, you'll understand the philosophy. Prabhupāda often said, "ISKCON is a philosophical movement." To English philosophy is obtained for this work. Worships of Deities. Here in Los Angeles, we are very fortunate. We have very beautiful Deities, probably taken care of very nicely. These Deities are archa-vigraha, is non-applicable to law. One should worship the Deity in love and faith. So we should have full faith, here is God, then it is easy for all. And then what was the fifth one? Sainathana Dham, or a place where the Lord is wherever. So checking him out from the advice of Sanatana Gosvāmī is very inappropriate. We should take advantage of that. If we want to advance spiritually, we have to make an effort. And if you make an effort, Kṛṣṇa will help. Prabhupāda said, "You take one step towards Kṛṣṇa, Kṛṣṇa will take ten steps towards you." Kṛṣṇa says in the Bhāgavad-gītā, "Those who worship Me with devotion, I preserve what they have and make more than that." So we may have so many shortcomings, to be sincere, we never Prasad Raaval. We are very happy to be here. As we said earlier, today is a very auspicious day. It is the finishing of Śrī Vātmāndra and incarnation of Nārada Mūhī and one of the closest associates of Caitanya Mahāprabhu. By listening to the pastimes of the Lord and His devotees, we get purified. In the mundane world, people are very interested in mundane stories, gossip, movie stars, sportsmen, politicians. For devotees now, this is simply shama eva kevala, simply a waste of time. Devotees want to use their time to meditate on the past, the past lives, the laurels of the devotee. So by man-manabhāvāmātmātto, by meditating on His qualities, asana, we get purified. So sometimes the devotees say, "How can I practice man-manabhāvāmātmātto?" One way of practicing this is by meditating on the pastimes. Because the pastimes of Kṛṣṇa, pastimes of Caitanya Mahāprabhu, pastimes of pure devotees like Prabhupāda, Meditate on these past times. That will help you to advance spiritually. So please make a serious endeavor. All of you sitting in this hall have an interest in spiritual life. Otherwise, why would you be sitting here? You're not getting any economic incentive for sitting here. Why are you here? Because you have an interest in spirituality. How many of you come to the temple every Sunday? About 70-80% of the audience. Achiya goal should be come every Sunday and bring our friends also. And chant and read Prabhupāda books also. How many of you read Prabhupāda books every day? How many of you have a copy of Bhagavad-gītā Asitātva? Okay, the response is 99%. And how many of you read the Bhagavad-gītā every day? So a significant number of people have the Gītā, but they don't have time to read the Gītā. So we should make it a point not only to have these books, but also to read these books. Krishna is very pleased When he sees us reading these books, Kṛṣṇa says, "Here is someone trying to understand me, so let me give him the understanding." Please chant, read Prabhupāda books, associate with devotees, come to the temple, and be determined to make spiritual advancement. Thank you very much. Hare Kṛṣṇa. Hare Kṛṣṇa. Time for questions. There's no question. Anybody ask a question? No question? Yeah. Thank you. Thank you, Maharaj, for the book. What is the secret of practicing so long, so enthusiastically? What should we do so that we also like lifelong practice? Oh, secret. The wonderful thing in Krishna Consciousness is there is no secret. It's all public knowledge. Process is very simple. All the stars are lucky. Chance, breathe, and you can do it. Even if you are a householder, even if you have a business, doesn't matter. Process is so simple that anyone can follow it. In fact, in today's environment, I would say maybe 98% of our devotees are people staying at home. They have good sadhana. Those who have good sadhana, chanting, reading, will definitely be able to— But that's the secret. Chanting rounds every day, read Prabhupāda's books, desire to be with the devotees, and engage in practical service. To the extent possible. Simple. And what's the other alternative? Those operationally, that is, there's no neutral ground. Yeah, anymore. Thank you. Thank you. Lama Lama, laya leh.
