Srila Gopal Krishna Goswami explains that the paramātmā, the Supreme Soul, accompanies every living being everywhere, even into places humans avoid as impure. Unlike people who abandon loved ones in difficult circumstances, the Lord stays present as the true protector and well-wisher of every soul.

So every living entity, whether it be a human form or a lower species, it has its paramātmā accompanying him. And just see how merciful the Lord is. Even if we love somebody, when that somebody is going to a dirty place, we don't want to accompany that somebody. But this paramātmā is accompanying the ātmā even when that ātmā goes to a dirty place. This goes to prove that Sri Paramatma is the real ever-well-wisher of every Ātmā.
