Prasad Raval explains that bhakti doesn't require leaving your job or studies. The Bhagavad-Gita teaches that you can work and serve Krishna at the same time, performing your duties with detachment and spiritual intention rather than renouncing them.

PRASAD RAVAL. Sometimes people are very scared about spiritual activity. They think that if I take interest in spirituality, then I will become an outcast in society, in the sense that I won't be able to do my job, business, etc. But this is totally wrong concept. Kṛṣṇa in the Bhāgavad-gītā induced Arjuna to take part in the battle, but Kṛṣṇa told him, "You should take part in the battle for my pleasure." In other words, for the pleasure of Kṛṣṇa. And Bhāgavad-gītā in essence preaches action, but action in the spirit of detachment.
