She was awesome. I really loved her authenticity. It's an overused word these days, but she was very down to earth and very relatable.
I'm new to Vancouver and I'm always trying to get into the scene and figure out the city. I think always moving is tricky and the more you can get into it and make it your own, it's really important. And so I do a lot of this stuff. I've also been in sales my whole life and so I've been to tons of like chamber events and I'm always hearing people talk and I would say this was one of the best.
A lot of times people are too self conscious to reveal about themselves or, you know, especially a woman. In business we hear about these factors all the time where, you know, it's challenging for a woman to be in a leadership role, to be a CEO. Yet she and her sister are both there and both contributing to the conversation.
She said, think big from the get go and go do stuff. I think this is so important because especially maybe for startups in the beginning, when you start a company, you tend to overthink if this is the right decision, if this is the right move. I just love that that's a good reminder for everyone.
And I like the size of the audience as well. It wasn't, you know, usually, you know, to hear someone speak of her caliber. You're in a room of, you know, hundreds of people and it was just really quaint and intimate.
There's something about those small spaces that lend itself to feeling like she's having a conversation with the crowd. And probably many, if not all of the people that you have that come in will drift into that mindset while they're in the Q and A portion.
Interesting people. Great venue. I've never been here, so definitely need to get out more. And yeah, definitely would recommend everyone to come check out.
