Richard Canfield and his guest discuss why they started a Quebec-focused real estate podcast. After leaving corporate jobs to renovate small multi-unit properties, they realized existing US podcasts didn't address local market conditions, so they created a show for practical, experience-driven insights specific to Quebec.

You made the decision to obviously take on a lot of extra work and start a podcast, the Real Estate Effect. You've been at it for a while now, sharing a lot of great information on there. What would listeners to your show, what would you expect?
Sure. So it actually started as a game when we did our first real estate deals. So I was just coming out of the corporate world and I thought it was such a good idea for us to buy A5 units and renovate three of the units myself. You live and learn. You think it's going to take you three months, but it takes you nine. But it's part of the learning and journey. And throughout this period of renovation, I was force feeding myself a number of real estate podcasts every single day. And it was all us based. And I just thought, hey, at some point, wouldn't it be cool if there was something for Quebec.
