Dr. Robert Rohm explains how to be certain of heaven: sin separates us from God, Jesus died and rose to save us, and salvation comes through faith in him, not works or church membership. He quotes John 3:16 and offers a prayer listeners can repeat.

Room author and world renowned public speaker as he shares stories involving his experiences and lessons learned in a good spirited, positive and fun way. Here's Dr. Robert A. Rome.
Hi, I'm Dr. Robert Roman. On today's podcast, I want to share with you how you can be 100% absolutely sure that when you die, you'll go straight to heaven. I want you to listen very carefully because this could be the turning point in eternity for you. One day your life will come to an end and mine will too. And I don't say that to scare you. I don't say that to try to cause you to be depressed or discouraged is just the truth. Death still comes. One per person. I'm 75 years old. I am not even a little bit afraid to die. I don't know when it'll happen. I hope I live a long time, but I'm ready to go right now. So if you listen carefully, I'm not talking about religion. I'm not talking about church. I'm not talking about denominations. I'm talking about being 100% absolutely sure and confident that when you close your eyes on this planet we call Earth, the next face you see will be the Lord Jesus Christ. And if he looks at you and says, why should I let you into heaven? I want you to be prepared. So listen up. I promise you, if you'll give me just about 15 minutes, I'll share something with you. Hopefully that will change your whole view of this attitude that many of us have about God, the Bible, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, religion, and the whole ball of wax. Sometimes things get very, very mixed up and confused. We are raised in houses where there's sometimes religion and sometimes there's not. I'm not talking about that. I'm not asking you if you're a religious person. I'm not asking you what your denomination is. Listen carefully. This may surprise you. I have read the Bible from COVID to cover. I went to not only Bible college, I went to Dallas Theological Seminary. I've studied the Bible carefully because eternity is the wrong thing to be wrong about. So I've studied the Old Testament in Hebrew, which in and of itself was incredibly challenging, and the New Testament in Greek. Prior to learning Greek, the only Greek I knew was a guy who ran a Greek restaurant. But learning that the Bible is a book that gives us good Information. But it's not just good information. It's information on how we can know God, how we can have a relationship with him, and how. Listen carefully. Most of all, when we die, we can go to heaven. You see, really, the Bible is only about five things. Now, don't miss this podcast. I'm telling. I'm going to go fast because I told you 15 minutes and I promise you, you'll end up in heaven if you listen to what I'm saying and respond to it. The Bible's only about five things. The first thing, the Bible is only one problem in the whole Bible and that sin from beginning to end. Sin is a problem. It's problem in my life. It's problem in your life. Sin is. We've missed God's mark of perfection. Number two. There's only in the entire Bible, not only is there one problem, there's only one enemy in the whole Bible from beginning to end. And it's Satan, it's Lucifer, it's the devil. He goes by many different names, but he is still the enemy of your soul and the enemy of God. So there's only one problem in the whole Bible, and that's sin. There's only one enemy in the whole Bible, and that's the devil. Next, there's only one hero in the Bible, and that's Jesus. From beginning to end. It is a mystery how God would become a man. He would be born a baby, grow up, live, die, and arise from the dead to satisfy the justice of God. The justice of God, that sin must be dealt with. And rather than asking us to deal with it, he dealt with it himself. And he came and died in our place. There's only one hero, and that's Jesus. So there's one problem. Sin. There's one enemy, the devil. There's one hero, Jesus. There's only. And here's where you come in. Step number four. There's only one purpose for the Bible. There's only one purpose for all that God has ever done. And what is that purpose? Our salvation, the salvation of mankind. The purpose of all of this is that you can have a home in heaven. And I'm going to tell you exactly how to get there. Today. You can have a home in heaven. You can have a relationship with God. And when you close your eyes in this world, you'll open them and you'll be in heaven. And the fifth and final thing, there's only one theme of the whole Bible from beginning to end, and what is that theme? Is the glory of God. God's glory will be made manifest. It is going to happen. When the disciples asked Jesus, how should we pray? He said, pray this way. Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Let me tell you something. One day God's glory will fill the whole earth. You can deny it, you can laugh about it, you can make fun of it, you can ignore it. That doesn't change a thing. So here's what I want you to know. Remember now, there's five things we're covering a lot that there's only one problem. Saying there's only one enemy, the devil. There's only one hero, Jesus. There's only one purpose so you can end up in heaven, so you can understand how to have a relationship with God. And if you'll listen, I promise you on this broadcast, on this podcast, you will not want to to pass this offer up because it is the all time greatest deal. In number five, there's only one theme, and that's the glory of God that one day will fill the whole earth. So here we go. So when you die and stand before God, I believe God's going to ask you some questions. And the first question he's going to ask you is this. Why should I let you into heaven now? This is so odd. This is a paradox. This is an anomaly. If you start in with, well, I was a pretty good person. I mean, I never robbed a bank. You know, I messed up from time to time. But if you add up all my good deeds and put them next to all my bad deeds, I think it may be 51%, 49% on the good side. And I think I've done my best. I mean, I went to church and a few times. I mean I went Christmas and Easter and I was, I tried to be a good person. I mean, I, I'm not, don't get me wrong, I'm not perfect, but I just think my good deeds kind of outweigh my bad deeds. Here's what you're saying to God. I think I deserve this because I did what I thought was best and I have earned my way. Are you know what that's called? Friend, I don't mean to be unkind. Listen carefully. I'm only going to be on this call 15 minutes. Listen carefully. That's called pride. And do you know the number one sin that God hates above all is pride. The Bible says in Proverbs, chapter six, these six things doth God hate. Yea, seven are an abomination unto him. Number one, a proud look. See, your proud look sounds and looks like this. Well, I've done my best. I'm a pretty good person. I mean, I never killed anybody and. Or robbed a bank. I mean, I'm as good as the next person. I don't think God's going to dump me into hell, but because, you know, I messed up a little bit, I'm pretty good. That's the very thing that's keeping you from having a relationship with God. That's the very thing that will keep you out of heaven. It's called pride. Now listen carefully to this answer, and I'm making a turn in this podcast. When I stand before God and he says, why should I let you into heaven? Jesus died and paid for my sins. Jesus arose from the dead. He provided me with the gift. The gift of God is eternal life. Romans 6:23 says, Through Jesus Christ our Lord. You see, I owe God a debt, and the debt I owe God is death and eternity in hell, separated from him forever. Fred, I'm not the smartest person you'll ever meet, but I'm not the dumbest person you'll ever meet either. I don't want to have to do that. I don't want to have to go to hell and pay for my sins for all eternity. Notice I'm not talking about denominations. I'm not talking about preachers, I'm not talking about pastors, I'm not talking about religion. I'm talking about a real God that one day you will face and he will say, why should I let you into heaven? Get it clear in your mind. Someone paid your way. Someone paid your way, and all you have to do is accept their payment, and that's the first step that you will take towards God and having a relationship with him. If you. If you and I went out to eat and I paid, we went to a really nice restaurant and I paid for it. And I looked at you and said, my treat. I love you, and I'll pay for it. And if I ever see you and you say, I heard your podcast, I will take you out to eat. How's that? And I'll pay for it. But listen carefully, that doesn't mean it's free. I still have to pay for it. Oh, sure, it's free for you, but it's not free for me. I have to pay for it. We can't walk out of the restaurant. That's called stealing. We can be arrested for that. But if I pay for it and I Pay for your dinner. All I'm asking is one question for you. Will you accept my payment? Will you accept my payment to be in your place for your dinner? If you look at me and say, yes, I will accept it, then basically all you have to say is thank you. I appreciate you paying for my dinner. We've all had experiences like that. That's why it's so simple. The Bible says the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God. The gift of God is eternal life. God wants to give you a gift. Friend, listen carefully. You may not have heard this before. God's not asking you to do something for him. He wants to do something for you. Salvation in a relationship with God is not wrapped up in you doing anything. It's you receiving something that's already been done for you. It is called the good news. It's called the gospel. Christ died. He paid for your sins and arose from the dead. And if you'll simply by faith say God, if you're listening to me, wherever you are, I want you to know something. I accept the payment that Jesus made for my sins. I receive him as my Savior. Then here's the paradox. Here's the anomaly. God takes all of your sin, past, present and future, and places it upon Jesus and He gives you the righteousness of Jesus. That becomes your ticket to heaven. It becomes your entrance to. It becomes your gift. You see, when I stand before God and I say, jesus died and paid my way, I He took away my sins and I got his righteousness. Make no mistake about it, in order to go to heaven, you have to be 100% righteous, holy. Only a perfect God would allow perfect people to come into a perfect heaven that he's created. Well, you say, wait a minute, but I'm not perfect. I hope you're listening. This is the paradox. This is the anomaly. This is the thing that's so unusual. I get to go in because of the perfection that Jesus gives me that he earned, that he accomplished, that he paid for with his sinless life, his death, and his resurrection. When I put my faith and trust in him, it's as simple as this. God, thank you that Jesus paid my way. And here's my answer, sir. My answer is yes, I receive him by faith. I put my faith in trust that he paid my way and I accept what he did for me. Thank you. That salvation, the Bible says, listen carefully. I will quote two verses and tell you where they are if you want to look them up. John 3:16, you probably already know it for God. So loved the world that he gave his one and only Son. That's what the word begotten means. Monoganas. In Greek it means my only unique. There's never been one like him before or since that whosoever would believe in him. That's what I'm asking you to do. Put your faith and trust. I'm not talking about joining a church, being baptized, being good, or anything else. Whoever would put their faith in trust Jesus would not perish but have everlasting Life. That's John 3:16, then first John. This is at the end of the Bible, just before the Book of Revelation. You could look it up. First John, chapter 5, verse 13 says, these things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God. That you may know k n o w that you may know that you have eternal life and you may believe on the name of the Son of God. John, the writer of both the Gospel of John and First, Second and Third John and the Book of Revelation, he wrote five books. He is the one that, more than any other one, probably the best friend of Jesus, sat next to him at the Last Supper. At the very end of his Gospel of John, you can look it up. He said, if I had written everything Jesus had done in his life, I don't think the world could contain the books. However, don't miss it. I wrote these things that you would believe in him and that by believing in him you would have life. Eternal life, friend. That's how you can be sure you're going to heaven. I only have like one more minute. I told you this is going to be 15 minutes and I'm closing in on it. Here's what I'd like to invite you to do. You don't have to be in church to do this. You don't have to be have a cold chill come down your spine or have lightning and thunder outside. All you have to do, and may I say it, all you can do is in an act of your faith, simply by faith, pray this prayer. And the prayer doesn't save you. Your faith doesn't save you. Jesus is what saves you. But your prayer is an act of faith where you simply say this. Feel free to repeat it. Dear Lord, I believe that Jesus came and lived a sinless life. He died and paid for the sins of the world. And that includes my sin. And right now I put my faith and trust that he died. He paid for my sins and arose from the dead. And I put my faith and trust in him. I want to have eternal Life. When I die. God, I'm not sure there's a lot of things that I know or a lot of things that I understand. But I do know a few things. I know I've sinned, and I know that I'm going to die one day. And I believe that there is life after death. I sense in my heart this world is not all there is to it. And there's a future in front of me. And I want to come to heaven. And I want to come because someone else paid my way and I put my faith and trust in them right now. Friends, if you'll just communicate in your own words that to God, I promise you he will forgive your sins, he will save your soul, and he will give you eternal life. I know for sure. Listen to me. I know for sure. When I die, I'm going to heaven. Does that strike you as me as being arrogant? The reason I know it is because someone paid my way. I'm not going because I'm good, because I went to a Bible college or seminary or I've been a pastor or I live in America, or anything else. I'm going because I accepted the free gift of eternal life that God offers to all those who will put their faith and trust in Him. My personal belief is we are all running out of time. The world. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know things are falling apart. Just start looking around. There is no stability. There is no security. There is no absolute foundation found anywhere other than a personal relationship with God through the Lord Jesus Christ, who loved you, who died for you, who arose from you, and will one day take you to Heaven. I hope this has been clear. If you'll notice, I didn't say things like church or religion or denomination. I've studied all of it. I've studied all of it because, as I said earlier, eternity is the wrong thing to be wrong about. I am 100% confident that when I die, I'm going to go straight to heaven because someone else paid my way. And it's 100% guaranteed because I'm going on what they did for me and not what I do for them. I hope you'll be wise enough to, simply, by faith, put your trust in Jesus. He loved you. He died for you. And one day he will come for you. In the meantime, if you die, you will meet Him. And all you have to do is say, thank you. You did that for me. I'm not trusting in myself, my religion, my denomination, my good deeds, my baptism or anything else. I'm trusting in Jesus. If you do that based on the authority of God's word, I promise you, just like I said at the beginning of this podcast, you will go straight to heaven. How do I know that? For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that if you put your name right there, if you would believe in him, you would not perish but have everlasting life. I hope you've done that. And if you hadn't do it right now, I promise you 100 billion years tonight you'll never regret, even if you're not sure. If you say God, I don't even know if you exist. But if you're out there, I want to know you. I want to. I want to have my sins forgiven. I want to come to heaven. When you get there, look for me. I'll be in the center section, down close to the front. I'll save you a seat. You can sit right beside me. I love you, friend. Don't miss this. It's not too good to be true. It is the truth, and it is good. I look forward to talking to you on another podcast real soon. I'm Dr. Robert Rome. This is called Becoming Wiser. What could be wiser than not missing God, going to heaven and having eternal life? Have a great day. I love you. Talk to you soon. Bye. Bye.
