A designer reflects on the mistake of assuming clients knew what they needed. The agency's job wasn't just to execute their requests but to steer them toward actual solutions, especially on websites and branding where most clients lacked clarity.
We weren't charging enough. I mean, that's a completely different, you know, conversation altogether, but we weren't charging enough. Therefore, I honestly thought that our clients kind of knew best because they were the ones paying us the money. Therefore, I— they, they should know what they're talking about. They're serious business owners. They know what they want. The reality is, like, they had no idea. They needed, they needed us more than we needed them. Hmm. They needed us to tell them what they needed in terms of a website, you know, and their branding and, and things like that. You know, we were doing an element of that. We, you know, we were steering the ship a little bit.
