JavaScript is n8n's most underrated feature. The presenter builds a workflow that pulls LinkedIn data and uses JavaScript to calculate engagement metrics, identify top posts, and find optimal posting times across 200 items almost instantly, faster and cheaper than using LLMs.

I'm getting sick of hearing myself talking about this now, but I think JavaScript is by far the most underutilized thing in NAM. Here I have this simple automation that just gets information on LinkedIn posts. Then with just a little piece of JavaScript, I can get this information back: the total engagement, the minutes it's posted, the engagement per minute, and then also the ratios like the likes, comments, and shares ratios. Then all of that gets passed to another bit of JavaScript that will give us all the top velocity posts, the top evergreen posts, and then also tell me the best time to post. And all of the engagement per hour. And you could do all of this with LLMs inside of NAN, but it's going to be slower, it's going to be more expensive, and it's going to be less efficient. I mean, look how quickly this thing processed 200 items. Pretty much instantly. And if you're watching this and thinking, oh well, I don't know how to write JavaScript, don't worry, neither do I. I literally just use ChatGPT to write all of it. And if you want to see me actually doing this live, then I'm just about to post a long-form video of me building this exact workflow.
