day 30: listening to feedback and building features to get more customers

Ryan Shank built a multi-user login system in two weeks after customers kept asking for it, which unlocked deals that were previously lost. He also added a Zapier integration to connect PhoneWagon with CRMs and Google tools. When multiple customers request the same feature, that's a signal to build it fast and measure what it does for your close rate.

What up guys, it's Ryan Shank from PhoneWagon. Here we are with our morning updates. Today I want to talk about the importance of continuously listening to customers and putting out features that your customers are asking for and why this is so important. So one of the things that we've done recently is we're hearing a lot of feedback from customers about features that they need to have in order to come on board with us. And one thing In particular, actually I'll give you two examples. So one example that a lot of our customers needed was the ability for their customers to have their own logins. So it's called multiple users, and they needed to give their customers their own logins with different permissions, right? They wanted them just to have view-only access so they can just see things inside of their account. So what we did, we started hearing this, hearing this, hearing this, and we weren't closing a bunch of deals because we didn't have this feature. So we prioritized this at the top of our priorities, and we got this shipped out within two weeks, okay? And that was really, really important. What's important? One thing we're hearing now is that we need to be integrated with CRMs and, you know, actually I heard twice the other day they asked if we have integration with HubSpot and we don't, but one of our highest requested features right now is to integrate with, for instance, like Google AdWords and Analytics. So what we're doing is we're building out an integration with Zapier, which you're going to then be able to integrate with all these other apps through that. So listening to customers and then prioritizing what you're going to build based on the number of customers and the value that that's going to bring to your business. You are able to ship this feature. So that's why it's super important to keep an ear to the ground, talk to your customers, and figure out exactly what they need. And if you only hear it once or twice, probably not going to be a good idea to ship that feature. But if you hear this over and over again, you start to— you're not closing deals, not closing deals, and this is ultimately affecting your close rate, it's making your marketing spend higher because the acquisition cost per customer is a lot higher because you're not closing as many, it's going to do a lot of good things for your business. So keep an ear to the ground. Build features that your customers actually want, and then measure it. And that is the one thing that I want to go over today. Love you guys. We're gonna see you tomorrow with another update.
