Ryan Shank shoots marketing videos for PhoneWagon, a phone system that tracks calls down to keywords and integrates with Google Ads. He films on location in Maryland and explains why video ads need constant refreshing to keep audiences engaged, plus the value of behind-the-scenes content that feels real instead of polished.

Hey guys, my name is Ryan, and today I want to talk about phones. See, Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone in 1847, and his main goal was actually to connect people and to have their ideas flow from their head through their mouth, through their vocal cords, and into someone else's ears. And what's happened is it hasn't actually evolved, or there hasn't been serious innovation since he invented it, and that's all gonna change today. Today, PhoneWagon.com is reinventing the telephone. Let's go check it out. Right now we're here, we're about to film some Facebook stuff. We're gonna do some ads, some retargeting ads, and we're then putting out a video 'cause we're launching call flows where you can build custom, like press 1 for sales, press 2 for support. So we're gonna film some videos inside of the studio here. We're actually in Maryland right now, and then we're gonna go out to the water, and then we're gonna film some more stuff. So let's go, woo! So this is a story all about— Life got flipped, turned upside down. Are you guys looking for a business phone system to be able to give out to your customers that's not your cell phone? IVRs, which is, you know, where you press 1 for sales, 2, you can create menus like that. You can build round robin so that it always rings one number first and then it rings another number. Or you can build sequential calls so it always— Stop scrolling, stop scrolling! Sign up with PhoneWagon.com. We're working with thousands of businesses right now. You can build easy call flows where you can set up— Alright guys, We just got done filming a bunch of videos. Basically, we're gonna put out new ads. What we need to do is you always— you should always be like refreshing the content of your ads that you have online, because if you're targeting the people and they see the same ad, it gets boring. But if they see a different ad, it might like spark their interest, because a lot of times you have the same audience that you're targeting, and if they're only seeing the same thing, they get stale. They, they like get conditioned to, to not pay attention to it anymore. So we're hitting them with new fresh ads, same audience, plus we're going to expand it to larger audiences, um, and then we're going to be able to, uh, to hopefully get more sales. We're updating our landing pages, so we just needed more videos, better context, ads As you guys know, we haven't been putting out a lot of content, a lot of video content, even though video is the number one consumed medium by everyone on the internet right now. People aren't reading long-form blog posts like they used to anymore. So anyway, so what we're gonna do now is we're gonna go film some more videos on the dock, do like inspirational style videos where it's like, you want this lifestyle, that sort of thing, where it kinda like sells the dream. Let's go. Whoa!
Oh.
Not exactly what I was going for. I mean, this is really nice. Not exactly what I was going for though. I wanna film content that people are gonna be able to like relate to and stuff like that. So let's let the universe do this again and hopefully get a better location. Oh! Oh wow! This, alright, this is pretty cool. Thank you, universe. Alright, cool, so guys, I wanna talk to you. We're about to film more videos. I wanna make a couple content pieces. We can be sitting on the docks. Also, by the way, I think these boats are super sick. Basically, this is what we're gonna do right now. We're gonna film 2 more videos. One of the videos that I wanna film, 'cause I wanna get like different backgrounds and like different angles and stuff, for these ad videos. And one of the things that we found recently is that ads on Facebook, video ads on Facebook, are the most engaging type of ads. So that's the kind of ads that we're gonna put out, and because we want to humanize our brand, that's why we do these vlogs. You get like behind-the-scenes access of like things that we're doing, things that are thought process. Because I've talked to someone today, I talked to a customer today who was like, oh, I saw your YouTube videos, and, uh, and one of the things— you see that? Multiple angles, Kane. We can either edit it out or we can keep it in. It doesn't matter. We want to be human. We want to show people that we're relatable and that we're just trying and we're just doing things that no one else is doing. Those are the videos we're gonna put out. One for the social pages so they can just see kind of like what we're doing. We're just gonna talk about product stuff. We're doing this vlog style video like this where we do cool edits occasionally, uh, where we just jump into like harbors and marinas and stuff like that. And then we're gonna do ads, uh, that we can play strategically. Thank you guys. We're gonna roll some video clips that we're gonna shoot right now, and then we're gonna see you guys tomorrow because we're gonna be putting out videos a lot. Peace. Let's roll the clips, then we're gonna go.
Bye.
