HERE'S HOW WE SET AND BEAT OUR GOALS

Ryan Shank runs PhoneWagon's weekly sales stand-up with targets of 10 sales and $750 in new MRR. Last week they hit 11 sales and $1,147 MRR. The team discusses dialing volume, demo completion, a $50 cash contest, and how new hire Raj went from contractor to full-time rep on strong numbers.

What's up guys, it's Ryan from PhoneWagon. Our main focus this week is really just looking at our sales numbers and trying to hit the sales numbers, trying to retain clients so we don't have a lot of churn. So you're gonna see Jim, you're gonna see Nick, you're gonna see Drew, you're gonna see Arad. If you guys are new here, my name is Ryan Shank. This is our journey building PhoneWagon from the ground up. Hope you guys are out there working hard, being pioneers, being Wagoneers. Welcome to the vlog. Hello.
Is that a sale?
Just a little sale, just a little bad little sale guy to start the day off.
Guys, on the Google Certified Partners page, I'll set up the information.
It'll be a quick little walkthrough on.
Pull the trigger today. I can do 49 for you. Basically this week, I just want everyone to come in like firing really, really hard and just have like a fire under their ass and a sense of urgency. And like, you know, every single dial matters. If you ever feel yourself being idle, even for like 20 seconds, 30 seconds, like hit the phones. And I want everyone to just be like going really, really hard because we are racing against time. Like we have to hit these numbers. I said to the team earlier today, like we have to hit 10 sales. $750 in MRR, net new MRR this week. 'Cause I want every single week to be our biggest week. Like every single week going forward should be our biggest week ever because we're adding more resources, more people, more marketing spend.
Who's gonna win the $50?
Cash contest, we're doing, we're writing the goals on the whiteboard. I printed them out, everyone has them right in front of you. I have the historical goal, the goal from last week and the actual results. So I want, you know, like we said last week, I want there to be accountability if we are hitting the goals or if we're not hitting the goals. So it's really about staying focused. Alright guys, so last week, uh, goal was to do 8 sales and bring in $600 in MRR, and we actually beat that. We brought in 11 sales, $1,147 in MRR. So we beat it by over $500, almost $550. So that was, uh, that was really good. I want to stay super focused on the calendar this week. A lot of demos, a lot of stuff that's in the pipeline. Pipeline. So we're gonna do the stand-up just right here, right now. So yesterday I wanted to hit 50 dials, fell way short on that. I did about 27 dials, but the majority of them were customer success. Okay, how many dials? What's the dial goal? Dial goal? I'm gonna say 90. How many demos complete? So you set 2, you did 2, and you did 2 sales?
Set 3, did 3.
Cool.
You wanna say something and introduce yourself?
Oh, Raj, introduce yourself, tell us a fun fact. My name's Raj, I graduated from college a few months ago from Israel. Fun fact right there. So interviewed Arad a while ago and I really, really liked him, but it wasn't the right timing. He kept following up and following up and following up, and then finally he was like, "Look, I start this new job in 2 weeks, so I'd still love to work for PhoneWagon," and all this stuff. And I was like, "Look, can you come in?" This was 9 PM at night. I was like, "Can you come in tomorrow? We'll do a 2-week pilot test. I'll hire you as a contractor. We'll see how things go." He comes in, hits 120 dials. Next day hits 150 dials. He set 5 demos within the first 2 days, so I extended him a full-time offer.
How'd it go?
It was good. Um, he asked for more details about the product. I gave him as much as I can. At a certain point I was just like, you know what, I'm going to transfer you to one of our product specialists and he'll take care of you as soon as he can.
I was looking last night, like, again, like, there's like small data. It's kind of early. I was actually thinking last night about even shifting some marketing spend to sales because we can kind of target leads better. We're getting more from sales and stuff. So I'm gonna be working on that today. Just kind of looking at like, hey, what does this look like for the next 3, 4 weeks? Like, how do we want to recalibrate the plan? Just had a customer live chat us in. Wants me to give him a call. Ray Miller had closed yesterday. So calling him right now. Hey, what's up?
How's it going?
Alright, love it. I'm gonna activate the account right now. Yeah, not for Mark.
I'm talking about the HubSpot fix. When customers are on this different URL, we want to push that now, right, Ryan? Couldn't connect to AdWords.
Day 1, PayPal fails.
Email sent out, hey, PayPal failed, actually. Yeah, that, that does. Day 2, the card was out.
The next day, they card attempted a second time, but I'm over at Parkville again.
Another email called out, like, warning account will not be saved. You need $5? Yeah.
So our winner today with 5 demos set—
that's a solid day right there—
is Drew! $50 cash! Good job, good job.
Last thing, you can't spell 14.
It's with a U, right?
Yes, it's like 4 and then the word teen afterwards.
But not like fort? I thought it was like a fort. Like fort, 4, F-O-R-T-E-E-N, like 14. But it's 4, 14, like 4, 14. Alright, good day, guys.
Check it out.
Thank you.
You guys going over to this little event over here?
