Ryan Shank of PhoneWagon shows day two of training a new outbound sales rep, emphasizing continuous feedback over one-time onboarding. The rep is already hitting the phones hard with a hot pipeline. PhoneWagon built an AdWords integration in six months that a competitor took five years to develop.

What up guys? What up guys? What up guys? What up guys? It's Ryan, Ryan, Ryan, Ryan from PhoneWagon. Today it is June 15th. Today, this is the second day we've had our outbound sales rep calling on the phones, calling into customers, booking demos, and we're having a lot of success. Tremendously successful. It's early, so I don't wanna, you know, call it a success. It's obviously day 2. A lot of things can happen. The biggest thing could be that we're calling all the good leads right now, we're gonna run out of leads, and we're not gonna have anyone to call. So that's one thing to consider. The second consideration is— that's really the biggest fear, actually. I mean, the other thing is just giving him constant feedback. You guys already saw the training that we did, so now it's constant training, listening to calls, providing feedback on the call, saying, hey, here at this call, at, you know, 2 minutes, you said this, you should have said this. Oh my God, Karen, you can't just ask people why they're white. So that's the thing, is when you're developing your employees and you're training them, it's all about one, documenting everything, you know, pushing them through training, but then it's the constant feedback back and saying, hey, do this, do this, do this. And it's that repetition that's going to get them molded into the person that you want them to be, and they're going to be able to be successful because you're providing them with that. You know, if you just give them training and then push them out into the wild and say, okay, you know, now you got to go and, you know, fend for yourself or whatever, that's not good enough. You got to continue to provide the training, and that's what we're doing. So I've been listening to a lot of calls. I've been having one of our advisors, this other guy, listening to calls, providing feedback. We're doing the demos. The demos are pretty good so far. It's early. So again, a lot of the customers that we're talking to now, larger customers, larger deal sizes, so they're not going to be one-call closes and things like that. But they're still hot. They're in the pipeline. They're really, really receptive. So I'm super, super encouraged by this. If you couldn't tell, I'm in South Padre, Texas, right? Oh, you couldn't tell that, but you probably are like, why aren't you wearing a shirt? It's kind of weird. And it's because I'm sitting outside overlooking like the ocean. We're just out here. We're hitting sales calls. I'm doing demos, emailing with customers, trying to close some deals because only one thing counts in this life. Get them to sign on the line, which is dotted. Last night, by the way, I was on live chat, customer chats in, send them a link to sign up directly. Boom, auto-converted. Another one. Couple more demos today. What else do we have? The feedback for the sales rep we're about to launch finally. Seems like it's taking forever, although one of our biggest competitors just launched this feature last year and they've been around since 2011. So it took them from 11 to 6, 5 years to launch this feature, which is basically an integration with AdWords. But again, this isn't about us, this is about you. We're trying to stay high level. We're trying to make everything we're talking about relevant to your business as well. So We're not getting in the trenches. It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter what the feature is. It just matters that it's a feature. We got it out within, what, 6 months of launching? It's really not a big deal. Kind of a big deal. I mean, it's a big deal. We're killing it. I'm a big deal, but it's just because the team is amazing and we're just trying to provide constant feedback. What else we got going on? That's about it. Let's hit you with some sales calls. Boom, play the clip.
I just had a couple questions about your call tracking. I saw you on the Google Certified Partners page and just wanted to reach out. We actually just partnered with Google Analytics for our call tracking software. Uh, who are you guys using for call tracking? Currently, uh, we're not doing any call tracking for our own business and we let the clients deal with their own. What can you guys offer for an agency? Okay. So obviously some of what you do ends up generating phone calls for your clients, right? Well, of course. Yeah. It's not just web leads. So when we partner with Google Analytics, we build something new. It actually lets you track the phone calls and the conversions of, uh, you know, I'm actually, I'm not the decision maker, but I do want to see what else, um, see if you guys offer anything, anything particularly, particularly attractive.
Sorry.
Hey Jeff, I was actually on the Google Certified Partners page and I saw you guys were listed. And just to let you know, I am going to send you a calendar invite. Cool. Sounds good. Appreciate it. All right. We'll talk later. Have a good one. You too. Bye.
