A pigeon herder who's worked in a New York City park for 12 years explains how he got into the job after homelessness and now makes about $40 a day in tips, sometimes $300 on cold days. He's the only one doing it.

Can you do a trick with them where you make them go and then come back? Whoa! How did you get into herding pigeons?
I've been doing it in the park for 12 years.
Have you ever considered doing another type of bird? No, only pigeons. Have you ever had competition from someone that wanted to herd other pigeons or another type of bird? No. Like, how did you get into it?
I used to be homeless down there, and then I, I got taken off the streets, and, uh, they've been coming to me ever since.
How much money do you make in tips every day?
$40.
$40? That's awesome.
One day I sat out here when it was 10 degrees and it I made $300 sitting right there one day. Just playing with the birds.
Just playing with the birds.
