Hey everybody, it's Ryan Dohrn, Internet Consultant, and today we're going to talk about a few tips and tricks adding articles to your Joomla website. And a lot of folks, you know, especially as you're getting in above 1.7 into 2.0, a lot of folks are not fully utilizing all the services and systems that are available through the new Joomla setup. So let's take a look at this. Now a lot of folks feel like they have to load all their images in advance here through the Media Manager, and that's not necessarily the case. What you can do is actually go on over to the article manager and actually can load those articles directly from the article itself. I'm sorry, load the images directly into the article itself. Let's check it out. What I'm going to do is simply choose New here at the top and create a new article. I'm just going to go ahead and stick some text here in the box and let's just pretend that we want to put an image right here at the top. Okay? Now, like I said, we don't have to have an image loaded. I'm just going to click Image, and then I can navigate over to the folder that I either want to pull the image from. For example, you know, let's just say we're going to pull the image, you know, from the Featured folder, just as an example. And I can either choose an image that's there to insert into the story, or what I can actually do is I can actually browse for the image here. So, if I choose Browse, I can actually go over here to my desktop and I've got a folder that's called Flowers. And I can actually just choose a flower and then click Open. And what I can do then is just click Start Upload. What that's going to do is upload it actually into this particular folder that's there. Now, at this point, if I wanted to, if I chose this picture and clicked on it, I can actually then go and choose the alignment of the picture here. I can actually add a caption, caption yes or caption no, okay? And then I can actually put a description and the image title here as well. Simply click on it and then choose Insert, and then it's going to stick the photo into the Joomla article. From there, I can click on it one time. You'll notice the little box comes on around it, and I can actually size it here, okay? Then I can also click on the image icon here under the paragraph. At this point, it's going to allow me to change the alignments, the image description, the title. It's gonna allow me to change the appearance, the alignment. I can make it a left align. I can change its dimensions. I can actually add some spacing around it, some white spacing like 5 inches of spacing around the image as well. I could add a border. Under advanced settings, I can actually go in here and actually make it swap out for bigger images, for example, if someone mouses over it, etc. And then I just simply click update. Okay, and so it's really important to remember that you don't necessarily have to have everything loaded into the media manager in advance. That's one way to browse and add those things as well. Adding images to the articles is super important, and it also enhances the content on your website. Remember, from an SEO perspective, you do want to make sure that you have an image description and a title included in each of the images that you add to the article itself in Joomla.
