Hey friends, Ryan Dohrn here, your global sales coach. Hope you're having a great week out there in sales land. Sales, friends, is a life skill that you need to practice every day. Oh, Ryan, are you talking about role-playing? Okay, none of us like to role-play. I get it, I understand. But here's the thing I like to tell folks all the time: amateurs wing it, professionals practice. Now, I think we all would admit that Michael Jordan with one arm tied behind his back and wearing concrete shoes could probably beat us all in a basketball game. But yet, friends, he shot thousands of free throws every single week. Amateurs wing it and professionals practice. I believe that as sales professionals, we're some of the most unpracticed individuals out there. How do I know that? Because I role-play with people. I practice with people. the time and they're terrible. They're like, oh, Ryan, I, I can't do this in front of you, but when I get in front of a client, I'm great. Listen, man, I love you. I want to help you. If you can't do it with me, how do you think you're going to do it with a client and really, really do it well? So how do we fix it? There's this little device called a cell phone. Friends, record yourself. Practice yourself. Look into the mirror. Put a mirror next to your desk. Practice, practice, practice. One of the most things that I like to practice a lot are objections. What are the 10 objections that we get most often? And I like to make sure I have some really good responses to those objections. How you start the sales call, how you end the sales call. Professionals practice, amateurs wing it. Are you an amateur or are you a pro? That really is up to you, friends. It's a life skill. You need to practice. Use your phone and figure it out. Professionals practice, amateurs wing it. Don't be an amateur. You're better than that. And don't forget, friends, if sales was easy, everybody'd be doing it. And they're not. We're the chosen few. We've found careers that will feed our families for a lifetime. Hey, if I can be of help to you, speak at your sales conference, train your team, or whatever, head over to ryandohrn.com, and we'll see you next week.
