Hi guys, welcome to your next training session here in Joomla. Really thrilled to be able to share some great stuff with you. This is Ryan Dohrn from BrainSwell Media. Alright, we've talked about how to add a new article and now we're going to talk about how to use the Media Manager. This is where you're going to go to upload pictures. So through your control panel, simply click on that. Remember, you're going to go to your.com name/administrator, type in your username and password, go to the control panel, click on Media Manager. Now, one thing to remember, guys, is that there's a folder here called Stories. Do you see this folder right here to the right? Look at my cursor right here. That Stories is where you're going to go and create all the image folders for stuff you're going to upload. Your articles, the pictures for your articles must be in the Stories folder. Guys, you got to remember this: the pictures for your articles must be in the Stories folder. Okay, so if we're going to create a folder here, see this little box? Alright, so let's just go ahead and create a folder called Test. You cannot use spaces. You have to make sure that everything you make does not have any spaces. So this folder we're going to make is called Test. Let's click Create Folder. It's going to automatically make a folder. Guys, I can't encourage you enough to be organized online. Don't be placing all your images in one folder and one folder alone. Break this down a little bit. Help me out, okay? Alright, click on the test folder. That's where we're gonna put our images. And quite simply, you're gonna scroll down the page and look right here, there's a button, Browse Files. Okay, click Browse Files and then go and find the images on your computer. I have a folder on my desktop called Flowers. Okay, and I'm just going to click on one of my images. Okay, I'm gonna upload this. I think it's a beautiful orchid. How nice. Click Select. Alright, and then all I'm gonna do is click this button right here, Start Upload, and that's gonna boom upload that image. Alright, let's go ahead and take a look at how we did that one more time. Okay, I know it went by really quickly. I was here on the control panel. Alright, I clicked on Media Manager. Okay, now remember, all the images for your articles, guys, have to go in this Stories folder. I created a folder by typing a name in this little blank here. Okay, and then I clicked Create Folder. Be organized, guys, be organized. That's how other people are going to find your stuff as well. I opened up this test folder, I went down to the bottom and I clicked Browse Files. I found the folder on my computer where the image was, was, uh, was located. Remember, Joomla will not resize your images, guys. You need to keep these images the size that you want people to see them. I don't suggest anything greater than about 200 by 200. Find the picture you want, click select or choose and simply then go start upload and bada bing, bada boom, there's the image. Now real quickly guys, it's very easy for you to add these then over to your articles. Go to site control panel, go to add a new article. Whatever that text is, guys, that you typed right in here, whatever the text is, simply go where you want the image to be placed. Scroll down the page and choose the Image button. You simply then go over to the folder that you've put your image in. Here's that lovely flower. I click it and then I click Insert and boom, there is the image. If you want to alter that image, you click on the image and go to the little image icon here. Looks like a little tree, and click on it. And this is where you would adjust the alignment of the image to your text. Okay, and don't forget, guys, if you're working for a long period of time, you want to click Apply, which is going to save your work and not close the page. If you want to save it to the database, click Save, and off you go. Until next time, this has been your help training video tip. I'm Ryan Dohrn from Brain Swell Media. We will see you next time.
