Ryan Dohrn analyzed 1,200 sales proposals and found that seven-page decks close 45% more often than those over ten pages. Proposals with three pricing options close at higher rates. Keep decks to ten pages maximum, ideally seven, and always include three price points.

Hey friends, Ryan Dohrn here, your Global Sales Coach, and here comes your sales training tip of the week. Think of the number 7. 7 pages or less seems to be the magic number for when I'm presenting sales decks and proposal decks to get deals done. Now, we had the opportunity to study 1,200 pages of proposals. The maximum we saw getting deals done were proposals or decks that were about 10 pages or less. Here's something to think about. Do you really need a capabilities deck, or do you really need to redesign your capabilities deck to be recommending products, services, and features to the customers you're meeting with? 10 pages or less was the golden, uh, kind of the golden rule. 7 pages or less is where we saw a 45% better close rate. Now, when you add in addition to that, that over 70-some percent of the proposals that included 3 pricing options almost always closed more difference, more deals, I think we've got a magic scenario, friends, on our hands. So think about the number 7. Think about 3 pricing options. Think about getting your decks to 10 pages or less, whether it's a capabilities deck or a proposal deck. Could you combine the 2 of them together? and close more deals faster? Maybe. Just think about that a little bit. Hey, I know some of you out there, you've got slide decks that are 45 slides long. But Ryan, I only briefly spend a little bit of time on each slide. Hey, it's too long. Trust me. I'm Ryan Dohrn, your sales coach, here to help you out. Just remember, friends, if sales was easy, everybody'd be doing it, and they're not. So we're either crazy, which is possible, or we found careers that have fed our families and will feed our families for a lifetime.
