Ryan Dohrn tells Debbie from Boston to stop letting email run her day. Instead, time-block your calendar with repeatable task blocks at set times like 10 am and 2 pm, and commit to prospecting until a specific hour. Structure is what most people need to stay focused at home.

Hey friends, Ryan Dohrn here answering your listener questions. Keep those questions coming to ryan@ryandohrn.com. This week's question from Debbie in Boston. Hey Ryan, appreciate you very much. Thank you, Debbie. Having trouble maintaining focus while working at home. What should I do? Debbie, you are not alone. One of the first things that I would do is don't let your day be controlled by your inbox. It's one of the most common problems that I observe. So what I do is I time block out my day. So I've got things that happen at 10, at 11, at 2, at 3. Use your calendar to create repeatable task blocks. Time block your time. And the other thing is set some rules for yourself. Like for example, you might say, like right now it's almost 3 o'clock, you might say, hey, I am going to keep prospecting until 3 o'clock. Set some rules for yourself. Just remember, most people thrive under structure. All right, Debbie from Boston, good question. Keep your questions coming in, ryan@ryandohrn.com. Uh, friends, don't forget, if ad sales— if sales in general was easy, everybody'd be doing it, and they're not.
